Fantastic to be back on campus as one of the head judges for the @HarvardHBS New Venture Competition Finals. The caliber of the teams this year was 🔥 and a reminder of how strong the HBS entrepreneurship program has become in recent years. When I graduated in the midst of the subprime mortgage crisis, the entrepreneurship program revolved around a handful of rockstar professors like William Sahlman, Toby Stuart, and Thomas Eisenmann. But when Goldman and McKinsey slowed their recruiting temporarily, HBS set out to build out a world class entrepreneurial program as an alternative. Today there's the NVC, a startup bootcamp, the Rock Fellowship, the MS/MBA program, the I-Lab, etc. - as well as pretty fantastic events for alumni that I loved when I was a founder. The school has really become an entrepreneurial powerhouse. The NVC is where HBS highlights its entrepreneurial talent. It's always super fun and a highlight for me. Thara Pillai, Benjamin McLarey, Mary Rose Saint-Cyr and the Rock Center team did a great job putting it together this year. Congrats to the fantastic student teams. It was terrific to meet you so early in your journey. Excited to see you turn your compelling visions into reality.
