So it begins: Italy is now rationing jet fuel at four major airports Bologna, Milan Linate, Venice, Treviso through April 9. Priority goes to medical flights, state aircraft, and routes over 3 hours. Everyone else: good luck. This is what European energy dependency looks like in practice. Actual planes, soon grounded or rerouted, because Europe dismantled its energy strategy piece by piece — first the Green Deal rollback, then the LNG pivot, now a supply crunch that hits civilians at the gate. The irony? The Commission is currently selling energy independence as its new banner.

#ANSA ansa.it/sito/notizie/e…

Two more young Iranian protesters from the January 2026 uprising, #MohammadAminBiglari and #ShahinVahedparast, have been executed by the Islamic Republic.
Abdorrahman Boroumand Center@IranRights_org

🔴 The Judiciary’s Media Center announced that the death sentences of #MohammadAminBiglari and #ShahinVahedparast, two imprisoned protesters linked to the January 2026 protests in Tehran, were carried out this morning following confirmation by the Supreme Court. The Judiciary alleged that the two individuals played a role in "attacking a classified military site, destroying and setting it on fire, and attempting to gain access to the armory." 🔸The case of these prisoners was presided over by Judge Abolghasem Salavati in Branch 15 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, where the death sentences were issued on February 7, 2026. Mohammad Amin Biglari’s lawyer had previously objected to serious ambiguities regarding the "confessions" attributed to his client, calling them into question. This case was initiated following a fire at a Basij base in eastern Tehran. As several other defendants in the same case are being moved to solitary confinement, concerns over the fate of the remaining convicts continue to grow. 🔸With the execution of these two protesters, the Islamic Republic has executed at least nine political prisoners this week alone.

Here is the backstory of several #Iranian #women who were blinded or shot in the eye during the "Woman, Life, Freedom" protests in #Iran: 1. Elaheh Tavakolian  •Background: A PhD student and mother of twins, Elaheh was in Mashhad when protests broke out. •The Incident: In September 2022, she was protesting in the city of Esfarayen when security forces shot her in the right eye with a pellet gun. •Backstory: Despite her injury, she became a prominent voice of the uprising. Due to her social media activism, she was denied medical treatment within Iran. •Aftermath: She traveled to Italy for surgeries to remove a bullet lodged in her head and to be fitted with a prosthetic eye. She has said, "You aimed at my eyes but my heart is still beating... the light inside my heart and the hope of good days to come will keep me smiling".  2. Ghazal Ranjkesh •Background: A 21-year-old law student from Bandar Abbas. •The Incident: On November 15, 2022, while returning home with her mother, she was struck in the right eye by a pellet shot by security forces. •Backstory: Before losing her eye, she was interested in makeup and skincare and enjoyed writing poetry. She shared a photo of her bandaged eye on Instagram, which went viral and inspired other victims to share their stories. •Aftermath: She had to have her eye enucleated (removed) and has documented her painful recovery process on social media, often framing her injury as a "badge of honour".  3. Kowsar Eftekhari •Background: A 24-year-old theater actress living in Tehran. •The Incident: In October 2022, she was shot in the eye with a paintball gun by security forces during a protest. •Backstory: She has reported that the security officer smiled at her before intentionally aiming and firing at her face. •Aftermath: She testified about her experience at the United Nations in Geneva and is now living in Berlin as a refugee, where she continues to fight against the regime.  4. Mersedeh Shahinkar  •Background: A 38-year-old fitness instructor and mother from Tehran. •The Incident: In October 2022, while protesting in Tehran, she was shot directly in the right eye by members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. •Backstory: She described hearing her eyeball burst, after which she was initially refused treatment at a clinic before being hidden by a doctor in a back room to avoid arrest. •Aftermath: Despite three surgeries, she lost her sight in her right eye. She now lives in Germany and has become an outspoken critic of the regime's brutality, emphasizing that the blindings were designed to terrorize, not just disperse, the crowd.  5. Niloofar Aghaee •Background: A 31-year-old midwife and medical professional. •The Incident: On October 26, 2022, during a 40th-day commemoration ceremony for a victim of the regime, she was hit in the left eye by a paintball gun while protesting with other medical staff in Tehran. •Aftermath: Doctors were unable to restore her vision, and she has become one of the many activists who continue to protest despite severe personal, physical consequences. Context of the Attacks: Rights groups and reports suggest that the targeting of faces and eyes was a deliberate, systematic tactic used by Iranian authorities to intimidate and "neuter" protesters, particularly women, without resorting to mass, visible killings. An analysis by the Iran Human Rights Documentation Center and other groups identified a pattern of behavior where assailants would specifically aim at the head and often smile or laugh during the attacks.

If longevity escape velocity arrives by 2033 (Ray K’s prediction), a 50-year-old today has a shot at seeing 2100. The prize: 50 extra healthy years of compounding knowledge, relationships, and impact. Worth optimizing for? Focus on a longevity mindset.
