Today in Ukraine is another very hard day, really hard night – the day after a massive Russian attack. In just one night, there were nearly 300 attack drones, 19 ballistic missiles, as well as cruise missiles. Air-raid sirens sounded across many of our cities. And this came after waves of “shaheds” had filled our skies just yesterday. Dozens of people have been injured. And sadly, so sadly, there are also lives lost in Odesa, Kyiv, in Dnipro. Just ordinary people, children, civilians, killed by Russian madness. If it’s possible, please, I ask you now to honor their memory, and all those whose lives have been taken by this terrible war, with a minute of silence. Thank you. From my address to the participants of the Four Freedoms Awards ceremony (1/3).

Captain Pavlo Ivanov, F-16 pilot, died during a combat mission today. Pavlo was 26 years old. Ukrainian F-16 pilots work in incredibly difficult conditions to defend their land and risk their lives every day. Eternal glory and eternal memory to Ukrainian Hero.

Last year a russian missile killed 9 Ukrainian children - the highest number of children killed at once in a single russian strike. • Tymofii, 3 years old • Arina, 7 years old • Radyslav, 7 years old • Herman, 9 years old • Alina, 15 years old • Danylo, 15 years old • Mykyta, 15 years old • Kostiantyn, 16 years old • Nikita, 17 years old We must not forget, we cannot be silent. To quote Dietrich Bonhoeffer: “Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.”

I think that Putin understands he can't fully occupy Ukraine. It’s just that sometimes he shares messages with our partners that are not what he truly thinks. He suffers tremendous losses and doesn't have enough well-trained people on the battlefield. He is trying to find an off-ramp that looks like a victory. That's why he is trying to push us out of Donbas via diplomacy, through dialogue with the United States. Because to fully occupy Donbas he would need to sacrifice between 300,000 and 1 million people, depending on how many years they would plan the operation for. This is a huge price to pay even for Putin. From an interview on The Rest Is Politics podcast (2/5).

I told our American partners they could understand whether Putin wanted peace by finding answers to the issues as follows: First, try to organize a meeting at the level of leaders to discuss territories. Putin has refused. Second, if he doesn't want to continue the aggression after a ceasefire, propose deploying American and European soldiers along the contact line. Putin’s response was, “No, no foreign soldiers of any kind”. Why? This can only mean he wants to go forward. Third, he has around 17 million square kilometers of land. Yet, he tells Americans, “Look, what’s the problem? It's only about 6,000 square kilometers”. Can you imagine that someone who has millions of square kilometers, 70% of which is underdeveloped and doesn’t have proper infrastructure, is asking for more? Do we really believe that all he needs is an additional 5,800 square kilometers? This is not his goal. Donbas is a strategic place in Ukraine. Once he has our industrial cities and fortifications in the region, there are only open fields and direct roads to our regional capitals. What I mean is that we understand why he wants Donbas. When Ukraine agreed to give up nuclear weapons, the price that the other side had to pay had to be fair. I think NATO membership was the smallest thing leaders of Ukraine had to get in exchange for the nuclear arms. What did we get? Nothing. It was not a fair game, and a big mistake. Not only a Ukrainian mistake, but also a mistake by other signatories of the Budapest Memorandum. These are nuclear countries. If they asked you to give up nuclear weapons, they should have provided you with a security umbrella. Perhaps a nuclear umbrella. Ultimately, all of it was a deception. Our nuclear weapons were largely transferred to Russia. For example, strategic aircraft that Russia now uses against us in this war. From an interview on The Rest Is Politics podcast (1/5).

🇺🇦 Bravo! Zelensky just dropped a cold warning straight to the American people: “I want American people to understand: we are your allies in Europe. World has no distance anymore — when drones already strike thousands of kilometers. One, two, three years — drones will strike ten, twenty thousand kilometers. With reactive engines, they will be very cheap. There will be swarms of these drones. You can’t defend that by yourself. The world has to help countries defend themselves and push the aggressor back. That’s why, i think, Americans need us, and we need the United States.” Who’s listening?

Vance: “What I would say to both Russians and Ukrainians is we're talking about haggling over a few square kilometers of territory. Is that worth losing hundreds of thousands of additional russian and Ukrainian young men?" Vance is once again failing to distinguish between the aggressor and the victim, attempting to convince you that it is acceptable to pressure the victim into complying with the aggressor’s demands. He fails to recognize that he is not only urging Ukraine to surrender territories, but also the people who live there, our homes, and our most fortified defense lines dooming us for future attacks, because this war is not at all about territory, but about Ukraine existence as a state.

🚨ZELENSKYY: Russians are scaling up their safari on Ukrainian people. We need to bring the war back on the Russian territory. “Right now, the Russians are trying to scale up their safari on our people. Brutal, extremely cynical drone strikes targeting civilians continue almost daily in Nikopol, Kherson, and other cities and communities near the front. There were Russian drone strikes in Chernihiv region: Pryluky, Novhorod-Siverskyi, and in Kharkiv region. And we need the tools, all the necessary tools: from adequate funding to real weapons, to keep scaling our defense against the Russians and our ability to justly bring the war back to Russia with our long-range capabilities. That's exactly what we're doing” - UA President on Tuesday, April 7th, 2026.

Kherson. Its streets have long been turned into a shooting range by russians. 📽 This is what a “human safari” looks like up close. Every day, russian FPV drones hunt innocent civilians—then the perpetrators brag about it on their channels. This is what russians are.
