@AngryBeav4Life @tingletad @Zazeronofshadow @sw_holocron I think the big dividing line in PT fandom and how TCW factors in to it is if you were old enough to remember seeing all 3 PT films in theaters, or whether your experience was mainly a home video one until episodes 2 or 3. people in that group hadnt come around by S2 of TCW

“The sequels are no more polarising than the prequels were when they came out," says BB-8 actor and puppeteer Brian Herring. “All the people who are upset about the sequels are too young to remember how upset the people when the original ones came out were, except they now have the internet. If the internet had been around to the extent it was around when the prequels came out, you'd have seen exactly the same stuff play out. And I think in 10 years' time, you're going to see what you're seeing with the sequels, because the sequels have a huge fan base and I meet them all the time, but they're all much younger than the people complaining on the internet about how much they didn't like. It's perfectly fine, if you don't like them, you don't like them. Everything's not for everyone. And I just think that these things are all generational and I think Battlestar Galactica said it best, 'this has all happened before, it will all happen again.'" @RJSWtrilogyWhen @tingletad @Zazeronofshadow @sw_holocron One problem: I was NOT a fan of S1. I was NOT sure about watching S2 at all until I heard good things via word of mouth. And it wasn’t just me. When S3 came out, I was in HS and EVERYONE, from Freshmen to Seniors, was talking about it constantly

@AngryBeav4Life @tingletad @Zazeronofshadow @sw_holocron 34 So just for reference, I was in college when the Clone Wars was airing. I liked TCW at the time, one or two other hardcore fans did too, we watched it live on Cartoon Network, but it was impossible to convince casual fans, OT fans, or even people who read some books to join

@the_MDT @sw_holocron It LOOKS nicer and the actors are given better scripts, but the story was disgustingly bad. The new characters were atrocious, the old characters were shit on, and the entire story of Episodes 1-6 was collectively thrown in the garbage.

@RJSWtrilogyWhen @Zazeronofshadow @sw_holocron That would’ve been a stupid criticism since Lucas was heavily involved up until I believe S4. And I didn’t say it HAD shifted the narrative, I said it had started to. There’s not a single equivalent show for the sequels to point to. Simple fact is that the sequel era is a failure

@RJSWtrilogyWhen @Zazeronofshadow @sw_holocron By 2009, Star Wars the Clone Wars was already shifting the narrative on the prequel era. There’s not a single show set within the sequel era that has achieved the impact of Clone Wars. There’s CLOSEST is Mandalorian, but the parts that connect to the Sequels are the most hated

@BelligeBeavs @nickdaschel @DanielLibit @johncanzanobft @JamesCrepea It’s simple: The Oregonian has a vested interest in seeing Oregon State become irrelevant and Barnes is GREAT for that because bad teams = no need for coverage. When the PAC collapsed, Danny Marang pushed back against covering OSU by saying there was nothing good worth reporting.

Oregon State is at one of the most consequential crossroads in its history. Conference realignment. A controversial NIL deal. AD disfunction. Decisions that will shape this university for generations. This is when local media SHOULD be most aggressive. #GoBeavs #TheBarnesFiles

@ThePhilosophian @CF_Budge No, it would kill hundreds of programs. The EPL and European soccer in general is littered with the corpses of local and smaller clubs that couldn’t compete with the bigger clubs

@CF_Budge I want to see CFB create an English Premier League type setup where, every year, 5 schools are regulated to the tier 2 band, and 5 schools are promoted to tier 1. It would create year-long excitement for EVERY school

It appears that NIL and the Transfer Portal is having almost the exact same effect on CBB and CFB. The only difference is perception, as CBB had a reputation of more parity because of its postseason format. CBB/CFB Pre-NIL: Small schools could out-experience/ out-develop big schools and win. A few elite schools hoard talent and dominate. CBB/CFB Post NIL: You get what you pay for. Only top 20-40 P4 teams really have a fighting chance. Elite blue bloods look more vulnerable.

ESPN Sources: Offensive Player of the Year and Super-Bowl champion Jaxon Smith-Njigba reached agreement with the Seattle Seahawks on a four-year, $168.6 million contract extension that now makes him the highest-paid WR in NFL history.  The deal averages $42.15 million per year, and includes over $120 million guaranteed, both setting records for any wide receiver. The deal was confirmed by @WINSportsGroup.
