Today is a deeply painful moment for me as a lifelong United fan. I've never felt so disheartened. We've held onto the hope that the Glazers would accept Sheikh Jassim's offers for months, but the fact that we had to resort to loaning players this summer clearly shows the Glazers' financial struggles. The infusion of support from Jim Ratcliffe is nothing short of a lifeline they desperately needed. It's a somber day for the club and our future. The toxicity within the club is bound to worsen, so brace yourselves, because we're in for a turbulent journey. It's time to move beyond just protests and "sit-ins." We should take inspiration from clubs like AC Milan, Partizan Belgrade, and Boca Juniors. We must make it clear to the Glazers that they won't have an easy time. I'm devastated, and those so-called "fans" who are celebrating right now should reconsider their allegiance. United is in critical condition, and celebrating its predicament is like applauding the Glazers for pulling the plug on our life support, all because Jim Ratcliffe wanted to charge his phone. I'll always love and support my club, but this is arguably the darkest moment for Manchester United since 1958.

There is a small town called Charouda in Chhattisgarh, unfamiliar to most of us, there lived a boy named Bharat. He belongs to a weak financial family. His father worked as a security guard at a bank and his mother ran a tea stall Later age he went to Kendriya Vidyalaya Charouda for school. In the 9th grade, he was unable to pay fees, but the school helped by waiving them, he did well in 12th grade and got into IIT Dhanbad. When money became an issue again, business people Arun Bagh and Jindal Group from Raipur helped him. He did excellent in college and got a gold medal with 98% at IIT Dhanbad. During his 7th semester in engineering, he got placed in ISRO. And got an opportunity to work on Chandrayaan 3 at just 23 years old. He is proof of the saying 'Rising from the ashes like a phoenix'. There are many Bharat like him around us, who come from humble backgrounds from the small towns, and who are pushing the dream of a new India every day. 💜

32 years ago in 1991 the Soviet Union collapsed and Ukraine declared independence. That year I was graduating from high school. The world around me crumbled. I realized that my life was a lie. Everything I had been taught about the world was not true 1/

In today's #vatniksoup, I'll introduce a Bulgarian politician and current President, Rumen Radev (@PresidentOfBg). He's best-known for offering his unwavering support for Vladimir Putin and his genocidal war in Ukraine, and for resisting all European aid to Ukraine. 1/22

I urge all financial institutions to present public, credible & detailed plans to transition their funding from fossil fuels to clean energy. To those institutions already doing this shift I say: Do not relent in the face of attacks on progress. You are doing the right thing.

Casually summiting Makalu without oxygen - whilst last week we launched @skydivenimsdai with the team and I free falling from 21000ft with the flag of Nepal. Next it’s on to motivational speaking in Bulgaria, talking about how we summit our own mountains in life. And before that I was attending Watches and Wonders for the launch of the new Mont Blanc zero oxygen watch in Switzerland! There’s no rest for Nimsdai right now, this is about inspiring and building a legacy. :- Casual updates on my Recent climbing evolution 1. Only human to climb Everest & Lhotse without O2 in a single day . ✅( I was sponsoring my brother Prakash to break my own record but sadly he got ill and couldn’t complete it this time.) 2. Exactly 25 years ago today - on April 14th, 1998, at 8am in the morning, Eric Meyer leaned forward, tapped a few keys on his laptop, and launched Netflix to the world. That first day was a long one.  We crashed our servers. Ran out of mailing labels.  Scrambled to get everything to the post office in time.  But we ended that day with 200 customers. Today, Netflix has more than 200 million of them. Starting with a dozen people squeezed into a tiny office with dirty green carpet, Netflix now has more than 10,000 employees.  It has customers in nearly every country in the world.  It produces it’s own movies.  It makes it own television shows.  It’s brought the world “Netflix and Chill”.  (And I promise, I never saw that last one coming). 25 years ago, we simply believed there “had to be a better way” to rent movies, but along the way we ended up not just changing the way the world consumes content, but how that content is created. We started out just wanting to enjoy work, and ended up showing it was possible to build a culture based on radical honesty, freedom and responsibility. But looking back, I know it could have gone very differently. - What if the DVD had gone the way of the LaserDisc? (Don’t know what a LaserDisc is? My point exactly!) - What if Reed and I had accepted Amazon’s offer? - What if Blockbuster had said yes to our $50 million ask? I can point to hundreds of other forks in the road that may have made the difference between success and failure.  Each of them reminds me of the importance that luck plays in every success story.  (And the role that survivor bias has in the fact that I’m the one telling it). Speaking of luck, what about the people?  Would any of this have happened without the right startup team?  Without Christina Kish?  Te Smith?  Jim Cook?  Eric Meyer?  Mitch Lowe? Where would Netflix be if PureAtria had not acquired Integrity QA; the lucky break that resulted in me sharing an office - and a carpool - with a guy named Reed Hastings. And what would have happened had we not stumbled - more than a year and half into our journey - onto the no-due-dates, no late-fees subscription model that ended up saving us? It’s been an amazing ride, and at the beginning, all I wanted to do was start a company that sold something on the internet.  I ended up with so much more than that. As Netflix closes out it’s first 25 years - and hopefully kicks off it’s next hundred - I’ve never been prouder of what Netflix has become. And I’m proud of everything that we accomplished.  We started out wanting to solve an interesting problem, and ended up proving that a handful of people with a crazy idea and a bit of determination can change the world. But I’m proudest of the fact that I didn’t listen when everyone - and I mean everyone - told me “That Will Never Work”.

In 2015, the former CEO of Formula 1 summed up the sport’s approach to marketing: “I’d rather get the 70-year-old guy who’s got plenty of cash. So there’s no point trying to reach these kids.” As great as that strategy sounds, it failed. Then Liberty Media bought F1 in 2016… Liberty’s first order of business? Addressing the ‘US issue.’ “The sport had long attracted premium advertisers in Europe, but failed to find an audience in the US.” Liberty’s idea – position F1 as a content company. 2 years later F1 announced a deal with Netflix for a docuseries. It got little attention. Many in F1 thought it was dumb. The two biggest teams (Mercedes and Ferrari) refused to participate. Red Bull, maybe the best marketing company in the world, was the only top-3 team to participate in season 1. A blessing in disguise. It forced the producers to focus on: – The championship battle – The mid tier – The bottom tier Giving viewers a relationship with all 20 drivers. *** Great storytelling maximizes tension and conflict. F1 is set up to do just that, in a unique way. There are two dynamics to watch: – Tension between teammates – Tension between teams Let’s talk about each. Tension between teammates: Only one other driver has the EXACT SAME car as you – your teammate. If someone else beats you, you have an excuse… But if your teammate beats you, he was simply better. This creates a fascinating dynamic between teammates, as seen across the DTS seasons: – Verstappen / Checo – Hamilton / Bottas – Lando / Ricciardo As a viewer, it’s incredible TV. Then you have the dynamic between teams. With only 10 teams, finishing 1 or 2 spots above or below where you’re projected means making (or losing) tens of millions. The team principals and owners best show this: – Horner / Wolff – Brown / Stroll – Guenther *** Max Verstappen, the reigning world champ, accused DTS of ‘dramatizing’ F1. He’s not wrong. It’s the same tactic used by Hard Knocks and the Ultimate Fighter. — Identify season-long storylines — Magnify the drama — Profit The results are staggering. Since DTS launched in 2019, F1 has seen: — 40% increase in US viewership — 7 of the 10 most watched races ever — The most attended race ever: 400,000 at the 2021 US Grand Prix in Austin The success has translated to dollars. Formula 1’s valuation has gone from $8B to $17B in just 4 years (113% increase). *** Less than 20% of Drive To Survive is racing. Why? In a sport where drivers wear helmets, seeing their faces and personalities drives more affinity for new fans. F1 estimates the show has earned 73M new fans 🤯 But what shocked me? Netflix actually pays F11 a licensing fee for Drive To Survive. Essentially, F1 gets paid to air one of the best commercials ever. That’s brilliant.
