Two years in, the first review confirms it. The Digital Markets Act remains fit for purpose, opening up digital markets, creating new opportunities for businesses and developers, and giving users more control and choice.

We have sent preliminary findings to Alphabet as part of proceedings launched on 27 January under the #DMA. These findings focus on Alphabet’s obligation to ensure effective interoperability with its Android operating system.

We are on our way to Cyprus with good news. I welcome the agreement from the Member States on the 90 billion euro loan to Ukraine for 2026-27 and on 20th sanctions package. While Russia doubles down on its aggression, we are doubling down on our support to the brave Ukrainian nation enabling Ukraine to defend itself and putting pressure on Russia’s war economy.   Now we will move to swiftly implement on both fronts.

We’ve awarded a €180M tender for sovereign cloud to four European providers. This enables EU institutions, bodies, offices & agencies (Union entities) to procure sovereign cloud services. Scaling the use of EU cloud is key to strengthening Europe’s digital sovereignty.

Today we sent preliminary findings to Google outlining proposed measures to comply with the Digital Markets Act. Google should allow third-party search engines to access search data, such as ranking, query, click and view data, on fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory terms.

I just spoke again with Prime Minister-elect @magyarpeterMP. Hungary has returned to the very heart of Europe, where it has always belonged. This is, above all, a moment for the Hungarian people. For their voice, their dignity, and their future in a safe, prosperous Hungary inside a strong Europe. We discussed immediate priorities. There is swift work to be done to restore, realign and reform. Restore the rule of law. Realign with our shared European values. And reform, to unlock the opportunities offered by European investments.
