Great to welcome the Association of California State Supervisors to the Capitol! 🎉 They’re in Sacramento advocating for remote work and meeting with Assemblymembers & State Senators to make their voices heard.

I joined my San Diego colleagues in adjourning in memory of Leon Williams—a dedicated leader who made history as the first black man to serve as a San Diego Councilmember and County Supervisor. He shattered barriers and inspired countless people to follow in his footsteps.

Last week, Nicki Mendoza, a patient advocate from #AD77, traveled to Sacramento to champion policies that support those living with rare diseases. I’m proud to author #AB242, a bill that would add Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy to California’s Newborn Screening Program.
