The secret to building a brand into a household name isn’t about catering to the masses. It’s being rooted in a niche that slowly catches on to the mainstream.

10 yrs ago I started a business that, as a VC, I probably wouldn’t have invested in. As a founder I was all in, but as an outsider there was good reason to be skeptical. 7 yrs later the company sold for $100M+. The rejection you might see today is no indicator of your potential.

When Black folks protest to stop being killed by police, they're met with tear gas, brutality, tanks and snipers. When White folks riot to overthrow the government, they're met with high fives, compassion and little resistance.

@shaunking Humiliating and I’m horrified. Too many people involved to have allowed this. From the coach who stood by, the woman wearing gloves, aggressively cutting chunks of his hair, & teammate who was cheering him on: “you’re being grossly violated, but let’s get this win buddy!”
