So after @kick announcing today we’re get a soft launch on Ads filling your info out has never been more important. Got to ask - are we going to be able to set “ad preferences” as streamers or are we just giving blocks to work with. Wonder how long it’s going to take for Kick to give creators the ability for “force” an ad to all current viewers for 30s for eg when the creator steps away. Also 10% algo I’m guessing is going to be a variable of base interaction within x timeframe (+new follower x time frame) x active engaged viewers = short boost (time dependant on return on boost with above variables) But hey - what the fuck do I know 🙃

Honestly - the view botting is a completely separate issue. Viewer count and active chatters do have “somewhat” of a correlation, however different demographics of viewers interact with live streams differently. I rarely type in people’s stream and hardly follow anyone but I’m a really viewer - doesn’t make my 1 view a bot. There is ways to see how many “engaged viewers” there is in a stream but giving a viewer a reason to engage is the most important thing. Also - and the biggest elephant in the room - view botting isn’t exclusive to Kick. There are bots on every single platform but the narrative to shit on Kick as having bots in every stream is genuinely stupid.

@AverageDadLive @Svntvmvriv are they doing anything about the view botters i literally just randomly clicked on a stream that said it had 200+ viewers , and it is only 3 or 4 people talking in chat , and one guy just spamming the same emote over and over

Didn’t say it wasn’t a game changer - I said there isn’t much else other than the 95/5 and the policies. I’ve been very transparent - Kick changed everything for me. 2 years ago in Jan2024 I nearly lost everything and stopped streaming. KPP kept me afloat and gave me opportunity and freedom to rebuild everything from scratch - again. I’m in no way discrediting Kick. I’m questioning the evident choices that are made that are frustrating

@AverageDadLive Understood. To suggest 95/5 is still not a game changer, I’m not sure I agree with. Creators choose the content they want to produce. example, chat roulette is null on many platforms, politics is demonetized on some platforms. You as a creator choose the content, and know policy.

Oh I have zero doubt that there isn’t a package deal (now) - however, many and I mean many creators have voiced their concerns on the feature/recommendation section of Kick along with funnelling viewership to only one “brand” and not as a whole. We bring creators from competitors and instantly feature/push/boost them, they make their bag and leave. But there’s creators that create on Kick with a competitor that see’s no platform benefit other than the 95/5. Funnelling is the biggest issue and whilst I understand the model if you’re on the outside is obvious and somewhat frustrating. When Kick first came around people asked if I would try it - I said no. Because it had no T&S so creators and viewers weren’t protected. The day you guys brought them in I was here and I instantly brought everyone from my community over and look what happened? To then feel like some of the 1st/2nd/3rd and overall Partners have been swept aside due to x/y/z feels somewhat disheartening.

@AverageDadLive Appreciate the feedback. Policy changed to maximize benefit for the whole. If KICK was truly going to be Stake 2.0 like many blindly accept, then KICK would package a Stake deal with KPP. With this policy we can give KICK rev to KICK creators.

There’s plenty I’d like to say and was vocal when the KPP was revoked for gamba and understood why. We as creators can’t have every slice of every pie and we manage that - but the way it was done with no warning hurt creators that were part of a transition. Repercussions like “shadow banning” streams, cutting discoverbility or search-ability on the platform and also the long term road map for gamba content. Every change seems to only benefit the few and not the whole. I did drop you a good few DMs not too long ago about this but understand you’re a busy chap.

@AverageDadLive What repercussions? You’ve been a first class partner and continue to stream on KICK. You’ve always had an open door to staff. If anyone is a poster child for speaking freely about KICK it is you. Please, vent.
