@burnhamfarms Generally think theres less wear and tear on lower hp tractors, and often the tire size is wrong for what we want.
Looking for a sub 5000 hour machine with 650 or smaller tires, and a pto. 3 point is nice but not a deal breaker

@BARippe What's wrong with an older 9630? Rebuild engine 1000hrs ago. Light work since.

@_TheMizzouTiger And here i am agonizing over if a 20 year old 1800 hour 375hp tractor is worth 160k… its so dumb

@flyinfarmer68 @ErickFarmer73 It was better where we didnt have the cows. I like the 15” drill because it doesn’t disturb near as much as a 7.5”.
35mph winds and 60mph gusts all day will blow stuff around. Just kinda all there is to it in this part of the world.
English

@BARippe @ErickFarmer73 Same here - Calmers. Must be your drill and the cows - I don't get much of anything blowing around.
English

@flyinfarmer68 @ErickFarmer73 We use calmers. So pretty aggressive, but dont blow anything like a chopping head. Flutted rollers would help, but make no till difficult
English

@BARippe @ErickFarmer73 Ah, gotcha. Chopping cornheads are all the rage around here - really makes a mess in places.
English

@ErickFarmer73 You guys always get it a little worse then we do in the Eastern part of the state
English

@BARippe Ran cattle on stalks since late 90’s and have never left early because of wind damage.
Alliance. Scottsbluff. Haigler. Yuma. Wray. Huge area too
English

@flyinfarmer68 @ErickFarmer73 Well only tillage done was a pass with 15” air seeder and some cows. Cows did more damage than i would have thought
English

@BARippe @ErickFarmer73 You could leave them intact and attached to the ground...
English

@ErickFarmer73 It really sucks. I dont know if theres an actual solution when winds blow for 35+ mph all day
English

@BARippe Huge watermelon farm by me, they cut the top off old buses like a convertable and throw them in to a guy who catches and stacks them
English

@BARippe Buses are cheap and have endless possibilities.
English

@DanielG98726044 Be great for that! This one they welded the back on behind the drivers seat. It was pretty well done for what it was. But no ive never seem anyone use a bus for this before
English

@BARippe We’ve had an old school bus hay hauler for 40+ years. Didn’t know it was special. Was used in a few school and town parades back in its day.
