अरुणाचल प्रदेश में भारत-चीन सीमा पर स्थित बुमला दर्रा (बुम ला पास) वर्ष 1962 के भारत-चीन युद्ध के अनेक ऐतिहासिक घटनाक्रमों का साक्षी रहा है। यह समुद्र तल से लगभग 15,200 फीट की ऊँचाई पर स्थित एक महत्वपूर्ण सामरिक और ऐतिहासिक स्थल है।

1962 के भारत-चीन युद्ध में अरुणाचल प्रदेश के तवांग सेक्टर में अनेक भारतीय सैनिकों ने देश की रक्षा के लिए सर्वोच्च बलिदान दिया था। तवांग नगर स्थित तवांग युद्ध स्मारक लगभग 2,420 भारतीय वीर शहीदों के अदम्य साहस और बलिदान की स्मृति में निर्मित है। नुरानांग क्षेत्र में स्थित जसवंतगढ़ युद्ध स्मारक भी एक महत्वपूर्ण स्मारक है, जो वीर सैनिकों के शौर्य, पराक्रम और राष्ट्रभक्ति की अमर गाथा का प्रतीक है। मातृभूमि की रक्षा हेतु अपने प्राणों का सर्वोच्च बलिदान देने वाले सभी वीर शहीदों को मेरी विनम्र श्रद्धांजलि एवं शत-शत नमन।
