Seniors should not be priced out of a house they already paid for because the area around them got more expensive. They didn’t suddenly get richer because Zillow says the house is worth more. Most of them are living on fixed income, paying higher insurance, higher utilities, higher groceries, and then the tax bill shows up like they somehow got a raise. People can argue all day about how to fund schools and services, and that part does matter. But making older homeowners keep rebuying the same house every year through property taxes is exactly why so many people feel like ownership is never really ownership.

Over the past week I travelled more than 3,000 kilometres across British Columbia, spending over 40 hours on the road speaking with people affected by addiction, homelessness, crime, failed policies, and economic hardship. I travelled through Vancouver, Abbotsford, Hope, Merritt, Kamloops, Kelowna, Penticton, Williams Lake, Quesnel, Smithers, Salmon Arm, and Prince George to hear the stories many politicians and media outlets refuse to cover. I want to thank the Mayor of Kamloops, MLA David Williams, frontline workers, and especially the families who welcomed me in and trusted me with their stories of loss, grief, and heartbreak caused by addiction and toxic drugs. As difficult as some of these interviews were to capture, I felt honoured to sit, listen, and help bring their voices to my viewers. One story that will stay with me is Cassie, a 23-year-old woman in Prince George who moved into supportive housing hoping to rebuild her life. Instead, she says she found overdoses, open drug use, and an environment where addiction was easier to support than recovery. Over the next week I’ll be releasing raw interviews and footage from across BC so Canadians can hear directly from families and people still trapped in active addiction crying out for help. The antisemitic display by the pro-Hamas group Mtl4Palestine in Montreal is horrific - hanging dolls representing Jews wearing kippahs, President Trump, Prime Minister Netanyahu and Minister Ben Gvir. Antisemitic incitement on the streets of Canada is out of control. It has led to an outrageous situation in which the Jewish population, just 1% of Canada, is the victim of 70% of the hate crimes. In 2025 alone there were 6,800 (!) antisemitic incidents, an average of 19 a day. The situation has continued to deteriorate. The government of Canada must wake up now.

In my call with Prime Minister @MarkJCarney of Canada, I expressed my deep alarm over the rise in antisemitic violence in Canada. I called on Prime Minister Carney and his government to address the fear and sense of abandonment felt by our sisters and brothers in the Canadian Jewish community before it’s too late. In our discussion, we agreed that Israel has the right to self-defense. I reiterated that we are acting to protect our people against the threat of terror from Iran and its terror proxies in the region, including Hezbollah in Lebanon. I also underlined the importance of implementing UN Security Council Resolution 2803 in Gaza, including the vital condition that Hamas is disarmed and a new government is established in Gaza.
