Looking back at it, we all celebrated the split from Activision.
I also loved the idea of it. At the time it felt like they were limiting creativity
But in reality, Activision provided critical infrastructure and support to create more robust expansions, and ultimately, D3. 😭

Marathon is not the reason we don't have a Destiny 3 right now. The decision to not make a Destiny 3 was decided around 2019 when the Activision split occurred. Biggest reasons for that decision?

@hardrive377 @OlManMakowski Well actually it was reviewed after the success of 1 and they were pushed to make a second. No where have they stated anything about a 4 game contract. The game originally was supposed to be similar to WoW as far as content with it being all under one name and pushing expacs.
English

@BaconStrpz @OlManMakowski They were contracted to make 4 Destiny games under activision with an expansion in between each of them.
English

@lostangel2k5 dmg preemptively blocked conservative players who never had any interaction with him and then some of them proceeded to have bans in game. That just happened. Then you having people with criticisms about the game and then Hippys fan base going after those people.
English

@BaconStrpz Name me a time when a dev and/or the community went after someone BEFORE that person was a royal jerk off to some degree?
English

@lostangel2k5 You just described the exact way to create an echo chamber. Im against discrimination but it seems like you think it’s ok if you deem it to be “toxic” people.
English

@BaconStrpz Removing toxic people from your space, and restricting their access to you is called protecting your peace. Boundaries exist for a reason.
English

@lostangel2k5 Is it negativity if people are expressing concern for devs and players going after them for their beliefs?
English

@BaconStrpz So at that point, those unhappy folks continuing to play were doing it to themselves. I know many friends that stepped away and some come and go, others moved on. Thats how it should be. Not becoming an echo chamber of discontent and negativity that serves no purpose.
English

@lostangel2k5 Still doesn’t mean you alienate those people and cast stones at them.
English

@BaconStrpz I’ve been playing since D1 Age of Triumph so I’ve seen all of Destiny 2’a entire life cycle and I watched how everytime players began to complain, things were changed. Some good changes. Some bad. The game evolved several times over. And still you had people that were never happy
English

@lostangel2k5 Clearly you haven’t played long enough because that’s exactly how Destiny is. The reason why it’s described as an ex girlfriend in the first place is because for a lot of player that’s how content has been. There’s been huge ups and downs so the analogy is actually valid.
English

@BaconStrpz Criticism can be very disrespectful when its no longer constructive and I’ve definitely seen my fair share of folks talking about Destiny like its a toxic ex girlfriend so I guess sure fam. Whatever makes you sleep easier at night. Have the day you deserve.

When I saw these bored ass adults wearing their retarded pajamas and modestly dancing in the "biggest club in the world's seedy, drug ridden underbelly", otherwise known as Starfield's "Neon..."
This was roughly when I realized just how dead Bethesda is, as a company. A game completely void of any grit, personality, or edge.
Neon is the DRUG CAPITAL OF THE UNIVERSE in Starfield's lore: you expect to see some heavy shit when you walk into its biggest nightclub. Instead you get... whatever the fuck this is.
A "nightclub" created by a corpo who's never actually *seen* a nightclub: the guy who takes a 45 minute detour to avoid the black neighborhoods on his way into work because he's scared of the poors.
While it's easy to write this off as Bethesda just being run by middle aged men who are out of touch, it's also important to realize that this level of sanitization, soul sucking lifelessness is also the product of DEI.
DEI, or "inclusion," is essentially ridding games of anything that can be deemed as too "unsafe" or edgy, because consumers are treated like numbers rather than people with preferences and desires. It's sanitization for the sake of not potentially offending financial investors, paired with the vague hope of 1 more person deciding to buy their "inclusive" corporate slop products.
English

@BlameItOnRyen It feels that way if you have any criticisms whatsoever about the team.
English

@lostangel2k5 There was nothing said. He preemptively blocked and made players feel alienated before all of this. The community then started going after those players based on their beliefs. That’s discrimination.
Criticism isn’t disrespectful just because you don’t like it.
English

@BaconStrpz Fam, no one’s entitled to put up with anyone’s bullshit and insulting remarks. If you feel unwelcome because you have to deal with the consequences of disrespecting and talking down to people, thats your fault.
English

@EliasToufexis The 180 on Glitch was annoying but makes sense if the engine can’t do the original vision. Nothing in Marathon is woke right now. The question I have is do you think anything in Destiny is woke?
English

@Chrangus_ Why do you want the team that messed it all up making another game? Luke Smith isn’t there anymore. He was the biggest reason why Destiny became so good.
English

Liebe Destiny-Community, wenn wir Destiny 3 ermöglichen wollen, dann muss Marathon auch supported werden ansonsten geht Bungie bis dahin unter

Marathon is attempting to broaden its playerbase with new offerings, such as a PVE-only mode. bit.ly/4wzmUSm

@RickKackis Also had employees blocking a huge amount of players based on personal beliefs.
It feels like the most unwelcoming time in the community and the game. Then if you voice any concern you’re labeled and cast aside. It’s not right.
