Yesterday, some Y4 children visited Handsworth Grange to take part in the inter city hot shots basketball competition. They enjoyed representing school and working together as a team @ForgeSSP

The KS2 children have been competing in a "Chaser" competition using the Active Wall. The current highest score is 51 from a boy in Y4. The sports leaders will be helping record the results this week. @ActivAll_ @ForgeSSP

Earlier this week, Y2, Y3, Y4 and Y5 worked with Handsworth Juniors Cricket Club. The children loved experiencing the joy of cricket especially bowling and batting. @ForgeSSP

Skyline Gymnastics visited our Y5 classes to talk about resilience in sport. Bel shared her journey through sport and her career speaking about challenges she has faced and tips on seeing things through in sport and in life. @ForgeSSP

Children in Y5 worked with the CRESST team talking about emotional regulation, conflict resolution and coping with disagreements. The children worked on scenarios where they needed to think about deescalating disagreements and dealing with emotions #HandlingConflictWell @_CRESST

A selection of children from across school, took part in a special workshop working alongside local artists from ArtWorks. The session helped them express themselves creatively, build confidence and develop their communication skills. @ArtworksSY

This afternoon, parents in Y3 came to share in the love of poetry. The children performed their poems using expression and actions. After the performance, they even taught their parents the poems too!

Earlier this half term, some of our children took part in the Panathlon competition at Concord Sports Centre.  The event was a great way to work on teamwork and physical activity in a fun and inclusive way. @LinksSSP @ForgeSSP

During assembly, we were visited by Kim from Links School Sports Partnership who spoke about inspirational women in sport and careers in sports. She spoke about the power of sport and movement to improve lives. @LinksSSP @ForgeSSP

Y3 had a fantastic time at the Halle Youth Concert at Sheffield City Hall. They learned about the orchestra, saw instruments and joined in with a song. Huge thank you to The Sarah Nulty Power of Music Foundation for the funding to make this trip possible! @bemorenulty @the_halle

Last week, we held a lion themed sponsored walk to raise money for the Sheffield Children's Hospital and school. We raised an amazing amount of money. Thank you to all who donated. The final total will be shared on the newsletter. @SheffChildrens @ForgeSSP #PrideOfYorkshire

As part of our commitment to healthy eating, children from FS to Y6 were visited by Taylor Shaw. They learned about nutritious food and practised basic knife & fork skills helping with fine motor skills, independence and confidence at mealtimes. @SheffTaylorShaw @eatsmartsheff

As part of our learning on the history of Sheffield Steel, Y3 were visited by employees from Outokumpu. They spoke about the history of steel, how modern day steel is produced and different careers in the steel industry. The children loved the VR headsets! @Outokumpu

On Saturday morning, children from across KS2 took part in the cross country event at Graves Park.  They had a wonderful time running in the mud and challenging themselves on a hilly course.  There was a great determination and team spirit from everyone! @sfs_sports @ForgeSSP

To promote career related learning and STEM, the Y3 children took part in a bridge building master class thanks to the Children's University. They interviewed real life engineers and found out about how to become engineers. They finished by making their own bridges. @CU_Trust

Yesterday, children in Y4 took part in a swimming competition at Ponds Forge. They had an amazing time competing against other schools and cheering their team on. @ForgeSSP

Over the past week, Courtside tennis have been working with our Y2, Y3, Y4 and Y5 children giving them a taste of tennis. Their sessions have been fantastic at helping boost confidence, teamwork and a love of being active. @ForgeSSP

On Saturday morning, KS2 children took part in the cross country running event around Norfolk Park. The children showed lots of determination and resilience to complete a very muddy and technical course. . @ForgeSSP @sfs_sports
