One of the more impressive Spring Fling stats involving the Chatt area: at least one local softball team has won a state title each of the past 22 seasons. Also, since 2002 there have been 36 championships won by 10 different programs and 27 runner-up finishes for area schools. Last year, CCS snapped Baylor's run of nine consecutive DII-AA titles by claiming its first crown, while Walker Valley became the first area public school to win a title since Meigs Co. in 2018. This year, 7 area teams have reached the state tourney — East Hamilton (4A), Marion Co. (2A), Copper Basin (1A - first appearance), Baylor, CCS, GPS (DII-AA) and Boyd Buchanan (DII-A). Lady Bucs are in tourney for first time in 21 years and looking to win their first title since 1989.

BREAKING: Boyd Buchanan has promoted assistant Charles Fant to the open head coaching position He joined the Bucs staff after a strong 12 year run as head coach at Notre Dame He was instrumental in developing the talent at Boyd the last two seasons Great hire for the program!
