Every beer starts on the farm. On National Agriculture Day, we’re celebrating the farmers and workers who grow and process the barley, hops, and other ingredients that make America’s beer possible. Beer supports more than 43,000 agriculture jobs across the nation. We couldn't raise a glass without them. Cheers to American agriculture!

The Beer Institute was proud last night to partner with the American Association of Railroads and the National Grain and Feed Association to host Beer Across the Heartland in our new office! Beer is part of a vast American supply chain that begins in grain and hops fields across the country. That grain travels by rail to breweries, where it’s turned into your favorite beers, and railroads again help deliver finished beer to your favorite bars and beer shops. In all, 2.42 MILLION American workers have jobs supported by the beer industry… and our industry is strongest when we work together with our partners in agriculture and transportation. Cheers to beer (and the railroads and grain growers that make it happen)!

BIG stuff is brewing in 2026... shaping the beers you see on shelves, at bars and even in your refrigerator. The way we buy and appreciate beer might be changing... but one thing sure isn't: it's still at the center of American gatherings, traditions and everyday moments. BI’s Master Cicerone Neil Witte breaks down what's coming next for the beer industry in 2026 >> beerinstitute.org/2026-beer-indu…

It’s #WorldBartenderDay, and the Beer Institute is raising a glass to the people behind the bar. Meet Kevin "Cochese" Abely, a Washington, D.C. icon whose commitment to service has become legendary among political leaders, Capitol Hill staffers and regulars. For years, he’s been a steady presence at Bobby Van’s, near the White House and the Beer Institute’s office in downtown D.C. Every day, Kevin does more than serve beer: he builds community. His warmth and presence have turned the bar at Bobby Van’s into a place where friends can connect, colleagues can catch up, and strangers can share the iconic moments that bind us together. Bartenders like Kevin help transform a simple beer into meaningful experiences that bring us all together. Cheers to Kevin and all of our favorite beer-pouring bartenders everywhere. Thank you for giving us a place to gather, celebrate and connect. Who’s your favorite beer bartender? We’d love to hear their story. Let us know in the replies!

Beer’s always been an important part of American history... from the very beginning. In fact, our very first President, George Washington, made sure Continental troops received a daily beer ration--and he even ran his own brewery at Mount Vernon, leaving behind his handwritten recipe. The Beer Institute and the National Barley Growers Association had a blast at our annual Barley, Brew and Boots event last night! Every great beer begins on the farm with high-quality ingredients. No Barley, No Beer! We’re proud to come together as a broader industry that represents grows and brews billions of dollars for the U.S. economy and employs millions of workers in our communities. And we were just as proud to introduce Capitol Hill to some of the American farmers who grow our grain. Thanks for coming out, everyone! #NoBarleyNoBeer

Yesterday, Beer Institute Chief Economist Andrew Heritage joined the National Barley Growers Association’s Winter Meeting to discuss the opportunities ahead for the beer and barley industries. Barley is a major engine of economic growth in the United States, with a $1.07 billion crop value in 2025. More than 68% of U.S. barley goes on to become beer. And the impact goes even further: agriculture accounts for 42,608 of the 2.42 million jobs supported by the beer industry nationwide. That’s something worth toasting! #NoBarleyNoBeer
