Watched jungkook’s whole RS interview and more than anything honestly from my opinion there was a noticeable shift in his presence. he came across far more at ease. More free and grounded at the same time…saying only what he truly wanted to say with no trace of trying to convince or persuade anyone beyond that. His confidence showed through honesty and unpretentiousness. Even as he says he’s moving at a speed of turtle I’m always looking forward to his artistry cause look at him now. he’s always evolving and improving showing something incredible every single moment. can’t wait to experience his voice across an even wider range of genres and styles. A born singer and performer with free spirit yet incredibly grounded and humble who never stops to challenge himself. Keep being you jungkook💜

I genuinely appreciate the two questions in the Rolling Stone interview that focused on Jungkook’s songwriting, and I agree that he has been consistently stepping up as a songwriter. However, there are a few critical points that deserve to be highlighted to provide a complete picture of his artistry.
• First, the phenomenal success of his self-composed "Still With You" (2020) cannot be overlooked. The track lists only 2 names in the credits, with Jungkook being one of them. When it was officially released on streaming platforms three years after its initial release on SoundCloud, the song reached a peak of No. 13 on Melon’s Top 100. Many artists fail to achieve this kind of result even with heavily promoted, newly released solo tracks.
• Second, his contribution to BTS's discography is extensive. According to KOMCA, Jungkook has songwriting credits on approximately 17 BTS tracks released prior to the latest album. Notably, on tracks like "Magic Shop" (2018) and "Love Is Not Over" (2016), he served as both a songwriter and a co-producer. Furthermore, the Japanese track "Your eyes tell" was originally a song Jungkook wrote for his own mixtape before offering it to the group. His active participation has continued through recent songs such as "Stay" (2020) and "Run BTS" (2022).
• His journey as a songwriter began at the very start of his career. Jungkook participated in writing "No More Dream" and "We Are Bulletproof Pt.2" released in 2013. While his name does not appear on the KOMCA credits for those specific tracks, he is officially credited in the physical album liner notes of 2 COOL 4 SKOOL. This indicates that he had already been participating in songwriting as early as age 15, if not earlier.
• Jungkook was promoted to a full member of KOMCA in February 2024, with the full membership requiring ‘substantial musical creation’ measured by the cumulative amount of royalties from one’s copyrighted works. He was the fourth BTS member to achieve this status, following Suga (2018), RM, and j-hope (2020). He is still the only vocal line member of BTS to hold the status.

Jungkook talks about working on the song Hooligan in a recent interview for Rolling Stone:
"Well, I worked a lot on “Hooligan.” And that song itself is … I don’t know. When I first heard the track, I came up with the flow immediately. So I got to work, and … The track is so unique, so I might have just lucked into this, but Hitman Bang and the rest of the members thought it was so fresh, and they all loved it. That felt awesome. And I didn’t know if the song would make it. But it got picked, and that rocked."

Watching this interview just reminds me how incredibly grounded Jungkook is. Despite all the global fame and success, he still carries himself with so much humility—it’s honestly rare and admirable.+

👤: of course ARMYs loved your solo work. if i see one critique, they say they “wish you wrote more”. and that the album was “very western”, for better or worse. have you heard that, and what do you make of that idea?
🐰: that just happened to be my choice at the time. i could write more for my next album, if that’s what ARMYS want.
🐰: but back then i wanted something else. i wanted to get good songs and release an album as soon as i could.
🐰: that’s the whole reason. i also think the kinds of stories i can tell are pretty limited. i said in an interview somewhere that id rather make up stories to tell, but i have an S in my MBTI profile. so gosh, that was hard.
🐰: so in the future, once i have a lot to do and a lot to say, i think it will happen naturally.

Jungkook’s answer about GOLDEN says so much about the kind of artist he is—honest, fearless, and true to himself.
When people called GOLDEN “too Western,” he didn’t get defensive. He simply said that was his choice at that time.
And that’s exactly why the album is so special—it was his first step as a solo artist, and he chose the sound that represented where he was in that moment.
GOLDEN was never about proving anything to anyone.
It was about Jungkook exploring himself as an artist.
He wanted to challenge himself, reach wider audiences, and show another side of his musical identity.
And he did that beautifully.
As fans, we loved GOLDEN not just because the songs were incredible, but because we could feel his confidence, his freedom, and his growth in every track. From the vocals, the emotion, the performances, to the way he carried the entire era—it was clear this was Jungkook telling his own story in his own way.
And what makes us love him even more is how he listens.
Him saying he could write more for the next album if that’s what ARMY wants shows how much he values the connection with his fans.
But more than anything, we want Jungkook to do what makes him happiest as an artist.
Whether he writes every song himself or chooses songs that speak to him, whether the sound is pop, R&B, raw, soft, or completely unexpected—we will support him.
BECAUSE BEING A TRUE FAN MEANS TRUSTING THE ARTIST,NOT CONTROLLING THEM
GOLDEN was powerful because it was his choice.
And whatever comes next will be just as meaningful because it will be his choice again.
JUNGKOOK DOESN’T NID TO FIT ANYONE’S EXPECTATIONS.
HE JUST NIDS TO BE HIMSELF.
AND THAT WILL ALWAYS BE ENOUGH FOR US.
Can’t Wait for JJK2,Jungkook🙏🏻
