@martinvars when you look at the defense spendings and resilience / readiness factor of Europe ? 2/2
English

@martinvars I've appreciated you as a numbers person: depending on research, Europe has approx. spend 50-75 Bln EUR since 2015 on Refugess (in total) and took around 3,2 - 3,75m people, that is roughly 0.1% of the tax income and 0.7% of citizens. What difference does it make? 1/2

Last night, something incredible finally happened. @maddow did what no other news anchor on ANY MAINSTREAM NETWORK thus far has had the courage to do: and laid out how the Trump administration is doing EVERY POSSIBLE THING to assist Vladimir Putin & Russia. The Kremlin OWNS THEM.

This war is a test of our resilience and courage, revealing both our strength and the loyalty of our true allies.
In the coming days, London will be a stage for crucial discussions on Ukraine and the support we need. The road ahead won’t be easy, but together, we will overcome every challenge🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦

Dear Volodymyr @zelenskyyua, we stand with #Ukraine in good and in testing times. We must never confuse aggressor and victim in this terrible war. (FM)

WK

With us, you start having cards ... You're gambling with the lives of millions of people! You're gambling with World War III!"

The heated exchange at the White House between Trump, Vance, and Zelensky has sparked debate, with some suggesting Zelensky was deliberately framed. I disagree. What unfolded wasn’t a premeditated trap but a public unraveling of tempers, a clash that spiraled out of control for the world to witness. The real winner? The absent figure in the room: Vladimir Putin, who benefits from the chaos without lifting a finger.
Trump’s irritation seemed to ignite over superficial yet symbolic details—like Zelensky’s attire, which he reportedly deemed too casual for the Oval Office’s gravitas. This wasn’t just about fashion; it was a signal of deeper disrespect in Trump’s eyes. Vance, meanwhile, bristled at Zelensky’s pointed remarks, particularly his pushback against their diplomatic stance. Together, they took offense at what they saw as ingratitude and insolence from a leader they’ve cast as a darling of the "woke" left—a narrative that’s tough for them to stomach. For Trump, Vance, and even Elon Musk (who’s likely aligned with their worldview), Zelensky’s image as a global progressive hero mirrors the challenge Biden faced defending Netanyahu: a principled stand clashing with political optics.
To me, this isn’t primarily Russia vs. Ukraine—it’s woke vs. MAGA playing out on an international stage. Trump and Vance see Zelensky through a domestic lens, a symbol of the liberal elite they’ve vowed to dismantle, not just a wartime president pleading his case. Their frustration boiled over, not because of some grand conspiracy, but because of a visceral ideological disconnect. Zelensky, for his part, didn’t back down, defending Ukraine’s plight with a history lesson that only fueled the fire.
Putin wins here not by design but by default. The spectacle of a fractured U.S.-Ukraine relationship, aired in real time, weakens the united front against him. What started as a diplomatic meeting devolved into a cultural cage match, and the Kremlin couldn’t have scripted it better.

#nurderfck

@martinvars @Manuelmao1 Isn't he amongst the people that benefitted the most from the last 25 years of San Franciscos development? Strange that "giving back" is so uncommon in SF / US

Enjoying Miami for 10 days. We lived here between 2014/2018. It was great to raise young kids but awful for work. We left for Madrid. Then during the pandemic NY and SF went to socialist hell and kids in those cities were unreasonably locked up. Miami became a great alternative for all those seeking freedom and post vaccination common sense. An escape from lazy unions that used Covid as an excuse not to work even after vaccination became available!
By 2021 Miami was booming and so was Madrid, the only free city in Europe.
Many thought that Miami would continue rising in tech after the pandemic and it partially did, but NY recovered nicely and San Francisco, even though it's full of homeless addicts had the AI boom. Many super smart people flocked back.
I guess what would be heaven is a republican San Francisco that is tough on lazyness, has lower taxes and doesn't want to kiss criminals. Like a Miami in SF. But that won't happen until California gets its @JMilei. As you see I never stop dreaming!

Wake up in Dallas, car to the airport and I see this huge Israeli flag next to an American flag.
Living in Europe where it is dangerous to walk around with anything that shows you are Jewish I feel like hugging America and especially hugging Texas if such thing was possible.
It's been extremely hard to be Jewish since October 7th and all signs of support are greatly appreciated by us, the tiny minority of 15 million Jews there are in the whole world.
