@blambot Throw all the script into AI and tell it to make a plain text or however, you want it formatted.

Comics writers, I know you like the features on these script-writing apps, but by the time your script gets to the letterer--who is using Word or Pages--the script is full of bizarre tabs, line-breaks, and other formatting issues. It's a pain in the ass for letterers.

SGs are my fav Gibson model by far. When the subject of SGs comes up, the colors that come to mind are usually Heritage Cherry or Black. But here are two semi-rare burst SGs from my collection: (L) a 2013 Standard ‘61 in Desert Burst, and (R) a 2018 Standard in Autumn Shade.

Me: searches for references online for a project. Google: Shows me my own work as references. Sigh.

Chipping away at vectorizing Janice Chiang's hand-lettered samples for the Regular variant of her custom font. I don't use auto-trace for this...too messy.

Lovely day. On the agenda: Lettering the 2nd issue of an unannounced Dark Horse project, working on Janice Chiang's custom font, and then if there's time, more work on Project BNib Shouts Condensed. Chilling with some Miles Davis playing in the studio.

@ComicsBodega I made a font of Skottie's hand lettering several months ago. I'm sure you can find all the previews on my social media somewhere.

@blambot Have you created a Skottie Young font? Like all of the K's, T's, and G's look like the ones above?

Here's my PSD file (pic 1) for Skottie's new 8' tall con banner! (pic 2) All those scratchy gutters were drawn by me with a dried-up, wedge-tip Sharpie! Skottie lettered his name, and I drew the white box around it. I had to create art patches for the top of the columns, too.

(The left and right sides of the banner wrap around to the back of the frame for a 3D look. That's why my PSD file has that "extra" art.)

Lovely day. Crazy morning. I noticed that there was an update for the theme I use for Blambot.com so I decided to upgrade it...and well, two hours later, we're back up and running. (I shoulda known it woudn't be that easy...) Sigh.

Lovely day. My Monday morning housekeeping was extra long today. Lots of weekend emails to reply to and some website maintenance stuff. Couldn't finish everything on my list... but I've got to start lettering...so here we go...

BTW, that includes me, too. It took a total health collapse in 2015/16 for me to realize that kind of schedule is completely unsustainable. I'm in a good place now, but it took years to recover, 3x in PT for my hands, neck and back, and thousands of $ making the studio ergonomic.

I don't buy into the machismo of pros humble bragging: "Look at me, I worked all night, all weekend, etc." I refuse to sacrifice my physical & mental health. I don't care who you are, you will have to pay for that self-abuse eventually. A TON of folks in the industry have RSI's.

Update on Project BNib Shouts Condensed Regular: I've got all the basic and accented glyphs in place, cleaned up, and spaced. next I'll be adding all those additional versions of each letter, numbers and punctuation.
