OFFICIAL STATEMENT Reflecting on our frequent sharing of the phrase “Young, Black and Rich”, mostly through writing and videos featuring Melly Mike his hit song, we have come to realize that it does not reflect our vision for inclusivity of people from all races, all ages and their financial status. Therefore, we have chosen to no longer support the song, the phrase or any derivatives of this non inclusive wording. If you have felt excluded or offended by the phrase, we would like to offer our sincerest apologies as we did not realize the devastating repercussions it could have on a group or person’s feelings. From here on out we seek to adopt measures in our practices to ensure that previously excluded and marginalized groups of people, or those that identify as such, will be represented equitably as a means of reparations for our past. Our initial focus will be on the old, white and poor (OWP++ people) as we now realize those groups in particular have been heavily underrepresented by us. While we have more work to do, we are confident our newfound commitment to advance diversity and inclusion across our practices will help create a more respectful, welcoming and tolerant environment for all.
