Absolutely gutted to hear about the passing of my teammate and friend Jason Collins. A courageous, kind man with a big heart, who lit up every room he stepped in. You will be missed. Rest in peace, Twin 🕊️

Achille’ journey is the definition of courage and resilience. His strength and dignity inspired the entire basketball world, me included. What you achieved is nothing short of greatness. Thank you, @ilpupazzo33 for what you gave to basketball and beyond. 👏🏼👏🏼

To me this is still the biggest void that needs to be filled - EL fans need more access to players, to learn about their stories, understand their personalities better, and appreciate them more. Thats how you draw fans to the sport, and most inportantly - retain them. This is why I see every game (such as the one last night) a huge missed opportunity to capitalize on player reactions after great performance not just by Nigel, but by many other players as well.

@BokiNachbar Thanks and it's a huge issue. These are the people the fans watch and, shockingly, fans want to know more about them. The few minutes I've had over the years with Nigel in mixed zones have made hin seem really interesting. A very calm figure who clearly has a lot of interests.

For as long as we will have all other topics discussed, except player greatness that we see in games such as last night, the league will not grow the way it should. It happens over and over again that incidents and quotes full of anger and frustration (from anyone else than players) overshadow what we witnessed on the court. While investigations about incidents should be done in the background, the media should push players/coaches talking about tacticts, decisive plays, big shots and adjustments for next games. THIS is is what basketball fans want to hear. EuroLeague, clubs and media - you can do better.

Not talking about you, of course. You are not on site but you are still one of more passionate media persons, which we all appreciate. You hit the nail in the head. Exactly, players need to be allowed to be in front of the media. Too many times they are “protected” by clubs and held back, to protect the “image”, often for no reason. However, by doing that, clubs are depriving fans of the most interesting content - genuine, unfiltered, post-game thoughts and reactions. Thats is why I say the league, its clubs, but also the media should do more.

@BokiNachbar Players got asked on camera about the game and the moment right after the game. I wasn't at the press conference as I covered it from Dublin. Team provision of players also a key factor. Your Barca team was an exception for lads being happy to talk back in the day.

@ballineurope So having players at a press conference post game and asking them game-related questions that I mentioned above (and many more) does not generate interest and has no commecial value? If that is so, the issue of how this sport is covered is even worse than I thought…

@BokiNachbar The Hayes Davis buzzer beater was the core focus of coverage in the main reaction but secondary stories reflect market interest. There's an ethical duty to cover the controversy but also commercial drivers. It gets covered because there is interest.

I respect your opinion, but where is Nigel in a press conference taking esucated questions from media and talking in detail about the last posession? Where are Valencia players talking post-game about last defensive coverage? Where is young, exciting player like De Larrea talking about what it feels to compete on the biggest stage? Where is Montero explaining his individual play, where he broke down multiple PAO defenders? Where are coaches talking about what worked in this game and the adjustements they need for the next game? I could go on for hours… All fans get are bits and pieces of what I mentioned above and 99% of media focus is on incidents of individuals. Lets not be satisfied with what we have. There is room for improvement. The game should not end at the buzzer - instead, players and coaches reactions and opinions should be fed to fans as the main focus leading up to the next game. This is a series, not a one off.

@BokiNachbar I mean most of the coverage has been about Nigel Hayes Davis so that has been the clear focus. If an owner does what DPG did, in full view of the broadcast, the media has an obligation to cover it. That's just ethics.
