I've delisted all my pieces from FND now. I'll be listing these on some other platform or my own gallery, even though my reach is quite smol atm after last year's rough times that made me have to take a break from it all. Aaaaanyway, I'm here. Always been. And yes this is a screenshot I used to make sure I had them all, my brain works like this haha.

So let me get this straight: > Blackdove makes a deal to acquire Foundation, artists and collectors assume their history, works, and provenance will be preserved > Blackdove takes over accounts, tone feels off, disconnected from the community, something doesn’t sit right > nothing really happening besides lots of 404’s > no clear communication > behind the scenes they line up curators and artists for a drop, signaling business as usual > then the deal falls through without much public explanation after having full control already > messaging pivots to “our core business is strong” while the Foundation takeover no longer moves forward > platform gets shut down, no migration plan, no timeline, no clarity > announce their own marketplace coming soon while the situation around Foundation remains unresolved > original Foundation team had already handed over control, now they can’t step back in to stabilize anything > Blackdove says access and keys will be returned for transition > Foundation says they don’t have access, no way to manage or restore the platform > then Blackdove suddenly says the platform could be reactivated on their end anytime for a transition > so why shut it down abruptly in the first place, without any transition window or warning? > from the outside, artists and collectors appear left without clear care, support or direction > @visualizevalue steps in to preserve the history of Foundation regardless of what happens to the platform This is all satire and playing with the feelings of real people building in this space for years.

Re: Foundation, I’ll just leave this post here from 2022. Tbh it hurts a little to see how everything played out with Foundation. It was my first love, so to say and break ups are always hard. I always have cared and believed so much and was (probably still am) super naive to believe in the good things. I thought people care when they clearly did not, at least not enough. I got swept away by narratives having no clue about how that world works from the inside. A lot of it was timing. Liquidity, attention, a new space. It felt permanent while it lasted. “I made a lot of stupid buys and mistakes until one day I discovered 1/1 art on foundation. This changed my life and many lives I supported. A door opened that will never close again - I found my passion for art.” This is still true to this day, art ruined me financially and brought me the biggest joy and passion I could ever think of at the same time. The good thing is artists lived from this money and I don’t regret a single thing. Okay maybe I only regret the gas fees and platform fees haha. Creativity deserves to be supported, it’s has to be supported. It’s the most valuable thing humanity has. I see blockchains still as ground breaking for artists to monetize digital art and saw so many lives changed and supported, maybe also later dreams destroyed again, but I think we all got swept by the mania at some point. It helps to grow up. Foundation wasn’t the magic I thought it was at one point. It was just the place where I first saw what was possible. Where the world to the insane creativity of all of you opened for me. And no platform closing can take that away. We are still alive and fighting for this!! This just reminds us again that what matters the most here were and always will be the artists. Let’s keep on working for a better future!

@CopperCab They live on the blockchain and you can see them on etherscan or opensea. BUT the images/videos are hosted on IPFS which FND says they'll keep hosting for 1 year only... so we gotta sort that out ourselves... which is extremely annoying.

A very sad day for NFTs, this is where my entire NFT history exists. Now, I need to figure out how to keep that alive. Disappointing to see no straightforward solution.
