🚨BREAKING: Chris Fleeger, a 3× NCAA All-American at Purdue (3rd, 2nd, 2nd), current Midwest RTC coach, and assistant coach at New Prairie High School, has accused Notre Dame head football coach Marcus Freeman of battery following an incident at a high school wrestling tournament on January 3. Freeman was attending the event to support his son, Vinny Freeman, a Penn High School wrestler and Cornell commit. According to the police report, the alleged incident occurred after Vinny Freeman lost a match to Hanover Central senior Israel Sinnott. As Vinny was escorted off the mat and out of the gym by Marcus Freeman and Penn head coach Brad Harper, Fleeger allegedly began exchanging words with the group. Police say Freeman then walked through a doorway into a hallway, where physical contact between Freeman and Fleeger allegedly occurred. Authorities have not disclosed the extent of the alleged contact. The report also states that Fleeger and Freeman’s wife, Joanna Freeman, engaged in a shouting match before Mishawaka police and school officials separated the two groups. The Freeman family left the school voluntarily and was not asked to leave. Fleeger filed a police report this past week. Mishawaka police investigated and have forwarded the completed report to the prosecutor’s office, which will determine whether any charges will be filed. There is currently no timetable for that decision.
