The judge agreed with Peter and Alexa’s position that the statements were compelled pursuant to ss. 199 and 200 of the Highway Traffic Act, and therefore their use at a trial would violate s. 7 of the Charter. Accordingly, the Crown cannot rely on them at his trial. #canadianlaw
