@TaylorHoliday Database structure and business context with (what seems to be) extended context window. I do connect a lot of data to Claude but it requires me to do a lot of the context setting vs. this chat prompt feels ready to go out of the gate

@BryanECano Is there a specific feature that you think best differentiates from what you could do with Claude code connected to all your data sources? I guess the part that is hard to understand is if you are using Anthropic models. What is triple whale? The database structure?

Yeah that's fair. When I think about the big five agencies and how they've been an exceptional training ground for algorithm strategists, I worry that entire discipline will cease to exist We're going to see fewer DR trained markers succeed in marketing and instead we'll see more grassroots marketers (people who can command attention organically) grow into this field

@BryanECano I think we have a similar vision - but real marketers with real visions vs algorithm strategists that have dominated. My experience with you is you’re more big picture brand driven in the way that will be durable.

I don’t think the DTC community has realized that TripleWhale has effectively pivoted from being a pixel & attribution platform.

I haven't faced those issues. They have cost at the order level. They have a fully auditable CDP that you can export and sync with Klaviyo and Meta. Three, not sure what you mean by full model customization. Regarding pure data export, they power data warehouses so you can pull all the data into BigQuery for example

The reason is that they never got it right. Session data without cost at the user level doesn't work. Same for all the rest of them. Need 1) Cost at the user level, 2) fully auditable cdp level data, 3) full model customization and 4) pure data export. They just never got there.

@Chillestdotcom I don't necessarily agree with that -- if anything it will allow marketers to be better marketers and have a bigger impact by getting out of the weeds of the day-to-day and thinking longer term in the business

@BryanECano It’s a smart move. The reason so many marketers haven’t had it click yet is because it existentially means they’re irrelevant if the vision is realized.

Honestly this pivot was one of the main reasons why I chose to use TripleWhale for Dixxon over other MTA options. Even the early versions of Moby, the investment felt like it wasn't just going to an MTA tool. It was like getting a data science partner on my team too. Love seeing how their capabilities have expanded even further over the last year and a half.

@brandonkuipers 100%. I remember hearing the goal early on in the platform's infancy and feeling like they were stretching themselves too thin, trying to cover a lot of surface area but it's really come together with AI

I don't think this is a pivot; this has been the goal since founding. They built profitable products, stockpiled data, and now they're releasing what AJ always intended. So much Shopify and Meta data has been fed through Triple Whale for years that they've got a huge (maybe insurmountable) lead over anyone else trying to create an "AI CMO" or "AI Data Analyst" for Shopify brands. I can't wait to try Moby v2 in the coming months.

@BryanECano Is it a 'pivot' or is it just adopting to the direction of the industry?

@dtcprophet From my POV they’re building with the AI models — I think that’s the better move than competing with them

@BryanECano Yes, now it seems like they are choosing to compete directly against anthropic.

The best day of my life was the night I dragged my bed into an empty apartment and cried.  I had dropped out of Syracuse a few months earlier. My parents were furious. I drove to New York with a suitcase full of brands and nowhere to live. @MattEpstein16 let me crash on his couch. Every night for weeks. Then months. Wake up. Grab the suitcase. Walk to Washington Square Park. Film street interviews all day. Come back to his apartment. Do it again. I didn't have a bed. A closet. A key to anything that was mine. You don't realize how much a door means until you don't have one. No privacy. No space to fall apart when you need to. I was signing brands. Making real money. Building something real. And every night I'd go back to a couch that wasn't mine wondering how long I could keep this up. Then one day someone said yes to a lease. I didn't have furniture. Didn't have plates. Just dragged my bed into the middle of an empty room and sat there. Everything I'd been holding in for months came out at once. People see the company now and think it happened fast. It happened on couches and park benches and nights where I didn't know if any of this was going to work. That empty apartment with nothing in it was the most I'd ever had.
