I have also noted there is a lot of misinformation flying around about the Finance Bill 2026 😅 Some people are now reading “WhatsApp forwards” with more confidence than the actual Finance Bill itself. For those intending to educate, analyse or passionately “break down” the Bill on Facebook Live and spaces , kindly first confirm the clauses actually exist in the Green Copy 😄 For example: • I have NOT seen anywhere in the Bill where M-Pesa transactions are being subjected to VAT. • I have also NOT seen any proposal increasing rental income tax from the current 7.5% to 10%. Some of these were in earlier rumours and circulating drafts that seem to have graduated into “facts” in Kenyan group chats 😂 Please read the Green Copy. It is written in English. Remember this important part: The deadline for submission of views to the Finance Committee is COB 25th May 2026.
