On 27.03.2026 , Member (Customs) CBIC Sh.Yogendra Garg chaired an outreach session on EMI scheme launched by CBIC. Chief Commissioner Delhi Zone, DIC and ACC Delhi and other senior officers from department were also present in the session. A presentation on the scheme was made by DIC officers which was followed by a questions and answers round. All the doubts of the attendees were clarified by the chair and it was directed that all possible support should be extended to applicants through the helpdesk created for this purpose.

Valedictory Session of the 2nd CRCL–U.S. DEA Forensic Chemist Workshop 2026 concluded successfully at Central Revnues Control Laboratory (CRCL), New Delhi,CBIC. Sh. Sanjay Gupta, Chief Commissioner of Customs (Preventive) Delhi Zone distributed certificates and appreciated participants for their dedication. Over five days, experts from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administrationand U.S. Food and Drug Administration engaged with Indian forensic and customs professionals on clandestine lab investigations, emerging synthetic drug threats, and advanced forensic techniques. With participation of 25+ officers from CFSLs, FSLs, NFSU, NDTL & Revenue Labs, the workshop strengthened bilateral cooperation, technical capacity, and best practices in drug enforcement. At the Central Revenues Control Laboratory (CRCL), CBIC New Delhi, on Tuesday, 17.03.2026, the 2nd CRCL–US DEA Forensic Chemist Workshop 2026 organized a specialised session on clandestine laboratory investigations. Experts from the U.S. DEA delivered technical lectures and conducted hands-on training, including a mock clandestine laboratory exercise. Over 25 participants from CRCL, CFSLs, SFSLs, NFSU, and NDTL across India were trained in safe handling, evidence collection, and scientific investigation of illicit drug manufacturing facilities.

The Second CRCL–US DEA Forensic Chemist Workshop 2026 (16–20 March 2026) was inaugurated today at the Central Revenues Control Laboratory, New Delhi, CBIC under the theme “Combating Synthetic Drug Threats Through Bilateral Forensic Excellence.” 👉The inaugural session was graced by Shri Yogendra Garg, Special Secretary & Member (Customs), CBIC, and Mr. Jason P. Meeks, Deputy Chief of Mission, U.S. Embassy, New Delhi, along with an 11-member delegation from the U.S. Embassy, U.S. DEA, and U.S. FDA, reflecting the strong India–US partnership in forensic science and drug enforcement. 👉The workshop brings together 25+ scientists, chemists, and forensic experts from across India. Over the next five days, U.S. DEA experts will provide specialized training on synthetic drugs, new psychoactive substances (NPS), and clandestine laboratory investigations, strengthening scientific capacity to combat emerging narcotics threats.

Sh. Yogendra Garg, Member(Customs) & Special Secretary, CBIC, New Delhi undertook a review meeting with the senior officers of the Zone on 20/03/2026, emphasising the need for trade friendly approach in revenue collection & swift disposal of public grievances.
