Roscoe was a brave boy for our Firefighters this week after he managed to get his head stuck in a baby gate. Our crew from Crook rescued the 10-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier just before 5am on Monday. We’re #NotJustFires and Firefighters are trained for a range of rescues.

ONGOING INCIDENT 👇 Our Firefighters are currently tackling a large blaze at a premises in the Valley Street North area of Darlington. We were called at around 5.40pm today and are expected to be at the scene for some time as we work to put out the fire.

Motorists who have to travel near the area should keep windows closed, turn off air conditioning and keep their air vents closed. If you have any concerns about the smoke’s impact on your health please contact the NHS 111 service. Keep your eyes on this page for any updates 👀

We currently have five fire engines and an aerial ladder platform (ALP) in attendance. We ask that businesses and properties in the area keep their doors and windows closed due to the level of smoke and urge people to stay away from the area ❌

Our Firefighters from Durham Red Watch recently joined forces with officers from @DurhamPolice to install ‘crime prevention tools’ in Bearpark Woods, Durham. 🚒🚓 The measures aim to crackdown on antisocial behaviour and motorbikes in the area.

Our On-Call Firefighters from High Handenhold enjoyed meeting Newfield Cubs and Beavers last week! 👨🏼‍🚒 Crews talked to the youngsters about fire safety ahead of the summer holidays and gave them the chance to use the hose reel. 👏🚒
