
John Terry has appeared to endorse a UK politician’s social media post that advocates for a nationwide ban on the burqa before deleting his comment. The former England captain is still involved in football and has been in an academy coaching consultancy role with Chelsea since 2021, working in a part-time capacity that involves mentoring academy players. Rupert Lowe, an independent Member of Parliament (MP) and founder of Restore Britain, a recently registered political party, uploaded a photo to Instagram that stated his intention to outlaw the garment, worn by some Muslim women, if Restore Britain was to ever form a government. Restore Britain was launched in June as a pressure group and announced in March that it was an officially registered political party. It does not hold any seats in parliament.
