Deliberation on “Make in Haryana Industrial Policy 2026” with Shri Nayab Singh Saini, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Haryana A CII delegation led by Mr Saket Bhatia, Chairman, CII Haryana, and Managing Director, Bony Polymers Private Limited; Mr Abhimanyu Sharaff, Immediate Past Chairman, and Managing Director, Vikas Group; and Mr Abhishek Somany, Managing Director, Somany Ceramics, met with Shri Nayab Singh Saini, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana, and Shri Rao Narbir Singh, Hon’ble Minister of Industries & Commerce, Haryana, at Haryana Bhawan, New Delhi, to share industry feedback on the draft Make in Haryana Industrial Policy 2026. India’s cloud computing market is witnessing robust and accelerated growth, emerging as a key pillar of the country’s digital economy. Driven by rapid AI adoption, increasing data consumption, and large-scale digital transformation across sectors. The rise of multi-cloud, sovereign cloud, and green data infrastructure is further shaping a secure, scalable, and sustainable cloud ecosystem for India’s future. 🍎 The 7th Edition of the CII Himachal Pradesh Apple Conclave 2026 will be held on 22 April 2026 in Kufri, Shimla. Shri Jagat Singh Negi, Hon’ble Minister of Horticulture & Revenue, Government of Himachal Pradesh, will grace the event as the Chief Guest. Himachal Pradesh’s apple economy, which supports a vast number of farming families and plays a crucial role in rural livelihoods, is at a critical juncture. At the CII Northern Region Annual Meeting 2025-26 & The Future India Summit, Plenary Session III focused on “Sustainability at the Core – Strengthening Industry for Tomorrow.” The session explored how businesses can integrate sustainability with profitability and build long-term resilience. Moderating the session, Dr Prodipto Ghosh, Distinguished Fellow, TERI and Former Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, steered the discussion on driving sustainable growth through innovation and R&D. Highlighting end-to-end integration of sustainability, Mr Vir S Advani, Chairman CII Western Region, Chairman & Managing Director, Blue Star Ltd, said, “Sustainability must be integrated across all stages of a product, from development and manufacturing to the supply chain. It does not end at the factory gate but extends across the entire lifecycle of the product.” Emphasising design-led sustainability in manufacturing, Ms Shradha Suri Marwah, Chairperson & Managing Director, Subros Ltd, said, “Sustainability begins at the drawing board and must remain a consistent narrative across the value chain. From green raw materials to reusable byproducts, adhering to evolving standards is key to responsible manufacturing.” Focusing on circularity in industrial operations, Mr K K Sharma, Whole Time Director – EHS, DCM Shriram Ltd, said, “Circularity is key in manufacturing, where byproducts of one process become inputs for another to minimise waste. At the CII Northern Region Annual Meeting 2025-26 & The Future India Summit, Plenary Session II focused on “Founders of the Future – Youth Empowering India’s 2047 Vision.” The session explored how education and skilling can nurture future-ready talent and drive entrepreneurship. Underscoring the alignment of industry and youth aspirations, Mr Deepak Jain, Past Chairman, CII Northern Region, Chairman & Managing Director, Lumax Industries, moderated the session. Emphasising confidence-driven youth empowerment, Mr Puneet Kaura, Deputy Chairman, CII Northern Region and Managing Director & CEO, SamtelAvionics Ltd, said, “We must have confidence in our youth and move from critique to encouragement, enabling them to be self-assured in their startup journeys. Along with policy creation, strong execution is essential to help young innovators grow and succeed.” Highlighting the role of skilling and digital access in inclusive growth, Mr Thomas Muthoot John, Executive Director, Muthoot Microfin Ltd, said, “Skilling is vital for youth in tier 2 and 3 cities where infrastructure exists but access remains limited. At the CII Northern Region Annual Meeting 2025-26 & The Future India Summit, Plenary Session I focused on “Unexplored Territories as New Centres of Growth.” The session explored how under-leveraged regions can become new growth engines. Underscoring sustainable and inclusive regional growth, Mr Andres Schipani, South Asia Correspondent, Financial Times, moderated the session. Emphasising emerging opportunities in tourism and regional branding, Mr Ashish Kundra, Chief Secretary, Union Territory of Ladakh, said, “Within tourism, we have a bouquet of opportunity with adventure, wildlife and culture offering immense potential. The pashmina ecosystem also presents a huge opportunity if we build a global brand that competes with the best.” Stressing inclusive development and economic diversification, Mr Sunil Kant Munjal, Past President, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Chairman, Hero Enterprise, said, “If India is to develop, all of India must develop, especially by creating non-agri economies in rural areas and adding value to agriculture. Embracing technology can help us leapfrog stages of development and unlock opportunities across regions.” Emphasising community participation in conservation-led growth, Dr S P Yadav, Director General, International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA), said, “Invoking local communities is extremely important as they bear the brunt of conservation restrictions. Wildlife reserves can become sources of employment, transforming local economies and driving overall growth.” Additionally, an MoU was exchanged between the International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA) and the CII–India Business & Biodiversity Initiative (CII-IBBI) to promote big cat conservation and habitat restoration through responsible, nature-positive business engagement. The partnership will drive multi-stakeholder collaboration across industry, government, and conservation organisations, while advancing knowledge creation, capacity building, and global engagement. The session focused on strengthening India’s competitiveness amid geopolitical shifts and technological transformation, while advancing resilient and inclusive growth. Underscoring the importance of industry dialogue, Mrs Anjali Singh, CII Northern Region and Executive Chairperson, ANAND Group, moderated the session. Stressing the need for openness and capability building, Mr R Mukundan, President-Designate, CII & Managing Director & CEO, Tata Chemicals Limited, said, “India must remain open and adaptive while reflecting on both external shifts and internal improvements. Indian companies should actively engage with global labs to address capability gaps and strengthen domestic scientific and technological capacities.” Emphasising technology integration and regulatory reform for innovation, Ms Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Executive Chairperson, Biocon Ltd, said, “Everything we do must embed AI and digital technologies to drive growth. We suffer from regulatory cholesterol and cannot innovate at the speed needed for our Viksit Bharat goals. CII Northern Region organised its Annual Business Session on 16 April 2026 in New Delhi. The adoption of the CII Northern Region Annual Report 2025–26 was undertaken, followed by the feliciation of the outgoing Chairperson, Mrs Anjali Singh, Executive Chairperson, ANAND Group. Highlighting policy advocacy and global trade progress, Mrs Anjali Singh, Chairperson, CII Northern Region and Executive Chairperson, ANAND Group, said, “The year saw strong progress in advancing ease of doing business and investment friendly policies, with close to 260 policy recommendations submitted across key focus areas. FTAs with key markets have expanded opportunities for the northern region, and during challenging situations, CII acted swiftly, engaging closely with members and governments.” Emphasising growth potential in North India, Mr R Mukundan, President-Designate, CII & Managing Director & CEO, Tata Chemicals Limited, said, “North is growing, each part of North is changing, and we have a great opportunity to double down on our investments and growth here.
