@SpeakerJohnson Another option is to pass a separate bill that provides Obamacare subsidies, but only for legal citizens. That takes that issue off the table - both sides can claim a win. The Senate has to pass both separately - or be exposed for their hypocrisy.

REMEMBER: It takes 60 votes in the Senate to reopen the government. Republicans have just 53 seats — which means we need at least 7 Democrats to vote to reopen the government. The House ALREADY passed the clean CR funding bill back on September 19, and Senate Republicans have done EVERYTHING possible to end the Democrat Shutdown. Since picking pointless political fights plays better with Chuck Schumer’s radical Marxist base, he’s refusing to let his members vote to open the government.

@SpeakerJohnson So negotiate a deal where if the Democrats pass the clean CR, you’ll create a bi-partisan commission (the same day) that will submit a bill that addresses the other concerns.

The “non-partisan” Congressional Budget Office had to make a multi-TRILLION dollar correction on their scoring of the Big, Beautiful Bill. Before it passed, they said it would cost $3 trillion. They just updated their scoring: ~$300 billion surplus.
