WEATHER & RESPONSE UPDATE (3:20 PM): Wind conditions across the San Antonio area have improved following yesterday’s cold front. As the front moved through our service area, the @NWSSanAntonio recorded a peak wind gust of 53 mph, which contributed to weather-related outages and challenging repair conditions for crews overnight. Currently, there are 44 weather-related outages impacting approximately 430 customers, with the largest outage being in the 78230 zip code. CPS Energy crews continue working to safely restore power where outages remain. In addition to restoration efforts, CPS Energy’s Customer Response Unit (CRU) teams have been in the community making direct contact with customers who remain without power and providing updates and support while crews complete repairs. We thank our community for their patience and understanding as crews continue working to safely restore service to all affected customers. SAFETY REMINDERS: ⚠️ Please remember #SafetyFirst and tie down ANY loose items that may be blown away by strong winds. 🛑 Do NOT go near or drive over a downed power line. Always treat it as LIVE. 🚨 Report downed power lines immediately by calling 210-353-HELP (4357). Please continue monitoring our outage map for updates in your area: cpsenergy.com/outagemap

Today, we recognize #NaturalGasUtilityWorkersDay and our people behind the work! 💙🧡 We're even honoring our littlest employees like Marshall, who dressed like his dad, Jimmy Jr., and his Papa – both CPS Energy gas utility workers – for his school's Career Day. Moments like this remind us that the work our gas team does every day reaches farther than we think, spanning generations. Thank you to ALL of our gas utility workers and their families. See you at work one day, Marshall! #PublicPower #CPSEnergy

Current status. @cpsenergy came out, broke the driveway gate open and cut tree. Property is now wide open to vagrants. Property owner is a company, so they don't care and never come fix anything. Things will stay like this for awhile. @COSAGOV Awesome.

OUTAGE UPDATE (10:20 AM):   Our crews continue working across the CPS Energy service area this morning to restore power following yesterday’s cold front that brought strong winds to the region.   At the time of this update, there are 78 weather-related outages impacting approximately 1,652 customers, with the three largest outages being in the 78232, 78109, and 78258 zip codes.   CPS Energy teams are actively working to safely restore electric service to customers who remain without power.   As a reminder, a Red Flag Warning is in effect until 8 PM today. Please know that safety remains our top priority. Strong winds can limit the use of bucket trucks to reach power lines. When wind speeds exceed 25 mph, crews may need to climb poles to safely make repairs, which can slow restoration efforts.   We appreciate our community’s patience as crews work to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.   SAFETY REMINDERS: ⚠️ Please remember #SafetyFirst and tie down ANY loose items that may be blown away by strong winds.
🛑 Do NOT go near or drive over a downed power line. Always treat it as LIVE.

Spring Tree Trimming & Safety Reminder 🌳⚠️ As many homeowners begin clearing winter foliage and preparing for the spring season, it’s important to keep safety in mind when trimming trees near power lines. When trees or vegetation grow too close to power lines or electrical equipment, it can create serious safety risks and lead to outages. CPS Energy performs vegetation maintenance only around CPS Energy–owned power lines and equipment to help protect the electric system and keep service reliable. This work must be handled by trained professionals due to the dangers associated with high-voltage lines. If a tree on your property is growing too close to CPS Energy equipment, do not attempt to trim it yourself. Please call 210-353-2222 to request an inspection or learn about next steps. In some cases, a temporary disconnect may be required so trimming can be done safely. Learn more about safe tree trimming and clearance guidelines: 👉 cpsenergy.com/treetrimming

(4:40 PM) RED FLAG WARNING ISSUED: The @NWSSanAntonio has issued a Red Flag Warning for the CPS Energy service area, including Bexar County, effective Sunday (03/15) from 12 PM through Monday (03/16) at 8 PM. Due to the heightened fire danger, CPS Energy will temporarily modify operating standards to reduce risk, and additional field checks will be required after an outage. If an outage does occur, you may experience longer than the usual restoration times. Please note that this does not mean CPS Energy is proactively turning off customers’ power. Our primary focus is your safety and the safety of our crews, and we ask for your patience as we work in potentially hazardous conditions. In the case of outages, you will continue to receive periodic outage updates, and we encourage you to follow us on social media, local news, radio, and through our website for the most up-to-date status of outages. The safety of our community and employees is essential, so please remember #SafetyFirst and follow us on our Facebook and X pages to remain up to date with the latest information.
