High Commissioner @IruthishamAdam spoke at the @cambridgeunion debate on economic growth & climate justice, highlighting the existential threat that climate change poses to Small Island Developing States & the efforts of the Government of Maldives to achieve sustainable development.

Things I have signed on my talk travels: a bottle of someone’s fav fragrance; drawings of my face; a huge poster of my face; a plain piece of paper BUT with a scented gel pen 😏; someone’s arm; an undergraduate essay about smell with feedback that said “Dr Ally would be proud”.

“From Palestine with love” - H.E. Dr @hzomlot delivered a speech today at the prestigious @cambridgeunion. He warned against the impunity with which Israel is allowed to repeatedly violate international laws and norms - and get away with it. He called for the recognition of the State of #Palestine, stressing the need for a leading UK role.

We should have traditional debate and free speech societies like @cambridgeunion. I'm sure there was a retort to this masterpiece from @spikedonline editor @Tom_Slater_ , but I can't imagine it featuring a shred of merit.

On Thursday 6th of February, the Cambridge Union debated the motion "This House Believes Donald Trump is a 21st Century Fascist". The motion passed with 219 voting in favour, 160 against and 118 abstaining.
