In 2025, the Caribbean Development Bank committed a record US$226.7 million to #climateaction, the strongest annual performance in our history. What does that look like? 🔹Guyana, Dominica, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines with stronger institutions, policies, and economies, better equipped to withstand climate shocks. Beyond our own approvals, we also secured Green Climate Fund support for interventions that will transform lives across the region like: 🔹Rooftop solar expanding in Barbados, Belize, and Jamaica 🔹1.8 million people in Belize and Trinidad and Tobago protected by upgraded early warning systems And 2026 brings even bigger ambitions: 🔹A US$200 million Blue Economy Programme 🔹A US$65 million water resilience project for The Bahamas 🔹A regional energy and transport investment platform 🔹Locally-led adaptation across the Caribbean The full picture is in the graphic below. The work behind it is already underway. Find out more ➡️ bit.ly/47lcjzh #CDBAnnualNewsConference2026 #ourCDB #ClimateFinance #ClimateResilience #ClimateLeadership

📢CDB made #recordbreaking climate investments in 2025! Last year, we approved USD226.7 million for climate action, the strongest annual performance ever. This amount is 50% of the year's total project approvals and more than double the 2024 commitment. CDB financed major environmental Policy-Based Loans for Guyana, Dominica, and Saint Vincent & the Grenadines. We also approved projects that will advance renewable energy, early warning systems, and improve water supply resilience. At our recent Annual News Conference, Division Chief, Environmental Sustainability, Ms Valerie Isaac, emphasised: "Resilience is neither an option nor a luxury. It is a fundamental requirement for regional growth and stability." 🚀We are accelerating this momentum 2026 with a USD200 million regional blue economy programme, a major water resilience project in the Bahamas, a flagship platform for energy and transport investment and more. 🇱🇨 With support from @caribank, #farmers in Choiseul, #SaintLucia are now using modern tillage techniques to improve soil health, boost productivity, and strengthen climate resilience. 🌱🚜 This milestone, delivered through our Building Resilience for Adaptation to Climate Change and Climate Variability in Agriculture in Saint Lucia Project, is advancing sustainable agriculture and #foodsecurity across the island. 🤝 To build on this momentum, CDB team members met with senior officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Sustainable Development to review how the project is expanding farmers’ access to practical, climate‑smart technology. 💡 Why this partnership matters: when we empower farmers to be stronger, food systems become stronger - leading to a more resilient Saint Lucia and region! #OurCDB #ClimateAction #Agriculture #Innovation #BRACCCVAS #CDBImpact
