Lots of great talks at Code BEAM Vancouver. Lorena rocking the house, with a shoutout to @erik_stenman and his fantastic BEAM book.

Hey Elixir network! I'm back to the job market! Currently I'm looking for opportunities with Elixir. I'm in CDMX, so the options looks like are limited for me. If you know something about a position, please share with me, I'll appreciate your support in this situation #ElixirLang

@jacob_luetzow @ExMexConf My very good friend and ex colleague at ErlangSolutions Raul Chouza is going to give a talk, he’s very active in the Gleam community 😏

I just finished putting together interactive Livebook notebooks for every chapter of Advanced Functional Programming with Elixir.
You can now run all the examples in your browser. Or like me, spin them up locally with Docker:

@carlogilmar similar with Rails/React
I can build the world in RoR at god's image
But shitty ass react it's to bigger to die
English

@douglas_correa Yeah, first interviews are weird, they asked me about what many years of experience I have in "pipelines". Just "pipelines", when I asked what it means, the recruiter told me we couldn't continue because I didn't have the Next.js experience hehe
English

@carlogilmar Sometimes they have a huge list. And they expect you have "Strong experience" in each one of them.
Unless you are in the market being overemployed during more than 5 years, you will have "Strong experience" in multiple technologies.
English

@thebiggergeek Yeah, most of the recruiters doesn't have any knowledge in Elixir/Erlang, so they are reviewing CV's with their bullet lists
English

@carlogilmar Very weird experience. I would have been conflicted if I got such feedback except the company requires a full stack engineer
English

@sriramskota Yeah, the good part is that I'm learning to say what the recruiter wants to hear from me. That's the trick
English

@carlogilmar Unfortunately that applies to any language, framework, package, etc. I think I've worked as "sixth party" contractor few times
English

@frantz_willian hehe as they doesn't know Elixir, is more harder they understand the power of the LiveViews hehe
English

@carlogilmar Agreed, and I believe that should be our new side hustle, to spread the word of LiveView
English

@hugobarauna Wow! I've never been in an ElixirConf yet, I hope to attend my first conf next year 🤞

Just watched the @ElixirConf keynote from @josevalim about the #Elixir Update, here you have my notes about it
