I grew up in a single-parent household on a British council estate. We had a meter for our gas, so we had to put 50p in to cook. I had free school meals because we were so poor. Despite all that, I have never had the desire to put other people down because of what they have achieved in their lives. I know how difficult it is. I truly do not understand the mentality of people who take this approach. They are almost always miserable in their own lives, and instead of working hard to change their circumstances, they choose to put down others' achievements. What is even more puzzling is the importance they put on being a success in business, even though they are abject failures at it themselves. Regardless, I will be married 21 years next week, and have a wife and a bunch of kids who love me. THAT is my greatest success.
