3/3: The bulletin also showcases CEDAR's work as an External Assessment Group (EAG) for the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). Our team recently contributed to two major Late-Stage Assessments (LSAs): 🔹 Drug-Eluting Stents: We assessed 29 stents from 14 companies. Our review of long-term data found no meaningful differences in key clinical outcomes, helping to inform procurement decisions. 🔹 Slide Sheets: We evaluated nearly 200 technologies. Our economic modelling indicated that washable and in-situ sheets may be les costly than removable sheets, however, there is only weak clinical evidence that demonstrates any difference in sheet features. Our Principal Health Economist, Megan Dale, Senior Researcher, Katherine Woolley and Sophie Frankel from @DHCWales joined global experts last week in Glasgow at #ISPOREurope2025, to discuss the latest in Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR). ​They showcased four key pieces of research conducted by CEDAR: 🔹 SROI in Healthcare: Highlighting methodological opportunities and challenges when attempting to value what matters to stakeholders. 🔹 Medical Device Assessment: Methodologies and challenges of Network Meta-Analysis (Drug-Eluting Stents case study for @NICEComms).

We're excited to share our new reflective paper, led by CEDAR, on the rapid evaluation of Wales' 'Adferiad' Long COVID service. This article explores our experience of collecting and analysing patient-reported data (PROMs & PREMs) to quickly inform national decision-making. We share the benefits, like establishing a cross-organisational approach for data collection, but also the real-world challenges. A key lesson was how the lack of patient identifiable data made it impossible to track individual patient progress, limiting the analysis and conclusions that could be made. This was a major collaborative effort with the Value Transformation team, Cardiff University, and Powys Teaching Health Board.
