@SenSanders In order to “lead the world” the US will have to cut the line. So far behind some European countries.

Oregon is burning. California is burning. Siberia is burning. People are drowning in New York City. Detroit is flooding. There is drought all over the world. This is a climate crisis. The United States must lead the world in transforming our energy system away from fossil fuel.

@ulfstadj @paulkrugman We already pay Scandinavian-taxes. We just don’t realize it because it goes out in so many separate buckets. We pay Federal, state and local taxes. Then there is health insurance premiums. I would argue that whehealth insurance is mandated the premium is the same as a tax.

The American left asks why we can't be like Denmark, with universal health care, low child poverty, and high life satisfaction. The American right asks why we can't have a murderously repressive regime like Putin's Russia, or now Myanmar. OK.
