But Starmer is being warned by MPs to avoid a leadership battle with Health Secretary Wes Streeting. Streeting will need to reach the threshold of 81 nominations in order to be a candidate for the job. Some of Starmer's loyalist, however, say Streeting doesn't have the right amount of backers.
