The 49ers team-building strategy is an interesting one and I like what San Francisco is doing. It is somewhat similar to what the Philadelphia Eagles have done and are doing. The Eagles have had 12 picks in the first three rounds the last four years. 10 of the players taken have been defensive players. Why? The Eagles spent a bunch of money on offense, so they needed to draft and develop on defense. Starting with the draft in April, you're going to see the Eagles do the opposite, because a lot of those defensive players are extension eligible and the Eagles now need to get younger and more affordable on offense. For the 49ers, their first five picks in the draft last year were on defense after they let a bunch of high-priced veterans on that side of the ball walk in free agency. The 49ers in 2025 had the oldest offense in the NFL. Now, it's time for the Niners to get younger and draft and develop on offense. The Mike Evans and Christian Kirk contracts are win-now moves, but they're also short term contracts, so the 49ers can take their time drafting and developing on offense. #49ers

Does flag football have a bright future in America? I think it does and i’d invest in its future. I thought the Fanatics Flag Football Classic was fun and entertaining on Saturday. I think the sport can grow and evolve and I’m looking forward to being locked in during the Olympics in a few years.

This would be a DISASTER for the NFL and it simply can't happen. - The NFL is in bed with gambling companies. They can't have replacement refs blow calls which could determine the outcome of games. This happened in 2012 with the Fail Mary between the Seahawks and Packers the last time the NFL had replacement officials - The NFL is rolling in cash. TV ratings and revenue records are being set. There have never been more eyeballs on the game. It's becoming a more international sport. Officiating is ALREADY QUESTIONABLE with FULL-TIME referees! Don't damage the product. #NFL

World Baseball Classic ratings are out: With 10.87 million viewers, the World Baseball Classic championship out-rated the seven-game average of the NBA Finals from last season. If the players care and the product is entertaining and riveting, people will tune in. Atmosphere was also epic, with a lot of star power. Baseball is in a great spot and it’s on a heater.

The San Francisco 49ers have drafted only five offensive linemen since 2022. The Niners have used the third least draft capital in the NFL on OL during that span. None of the five players drafted have been taken before the third round. Only one (Dominick Puni) has become a full-time starter. It is roster building malpractice and what's frustrating for 49ers fans, is that Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch have made the argument that their OL is really good and they have invested in it. Not the case. Until Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch invest more into the OL, they won't win a Super Bowl. It could be the downfall of their regime. #49ers

49ers LT Trent Williams is due a $10 million roster bonus on Friday. We should have a contract resolution by tomorrow. His cap hit for 2026 is nearly $39 million, which is the big hold up for the 49ers right now. Williams also has no guaranteed money left on his contract. The 49ers should give him an extension through 2027, which includes guaranteed money and a good average annual value. #49ers

The World Baseball Classic was incredible and it was a riveting television product. A big reason why it was so entertaining? You could see how much the players and fans CARED. That's one of the issues the NBA has right now. The regular season is a joke. I don't think the sport of baseball has ever been better or more entertaining. Dodgers vs Yankees the year before averaged around 15 million, Celtics vs. Mavs was around 11 million. The San Francisco 49ers are signing WR Christian Kirk to a 1-year, $6 million contract, according to @Schultz_Report. This will help the 49ers get a little faster on offense. Still has some juice, but Kirk has been injured a good bit the last three seasons. Only had 28 receptions for 239 yards and 1 TD last year with the Texans, but had 8 catches for 144 yards and 1 TD in the Wild Card round vs. Steelers. #49ers

This probably means Deebo Samuel isn't returning to the 49ers. Kirk plays primarily in the slot. He logged 216 snaps in the slot and 82 snaps out wide. #49ers

Major 49ers salary cap update: The 49ers restructured the contract of Nick Bosa, which opens up about $17 million of cap space for 2026. If the 49ers also give Trent Williams a contract extension, the Niners can clear up about a combined $34 million in salary cap room. Bosa's cap hit for 2027 is nearly $55 million.
