Power outage affecting Bertrams, Lorentzville, and Judith's Paarl
We have confirmed that the Observatory Substation is fully operational, with no trips reported at the main station. However, two malfunctioning mini-substations and a chamber located at Lang and Ascort, as well as 1st and Derby in Bertrams, are affecting customers in parts of Bertrams, Lorentzville, Judith’s Paarl, and the surrounding areas.
Once the ongoing work at the Fordsburg Substation is completed, our operators will carry out a detailed investigation.

Johnware Substation: Operators are onsite addressing a power disruption originating from Fordsburg North distributor, which is impacting Ferreirasdorp, Fordsburg, and the surrounding areas.

Roodepoort Substation (Princess, Matholesville, Davidsonville, part of Roodepoort West, Roodepoort CBD and surrounding areas): Operators are working alongside the protection team to find the root cause of the fault that led to four distributors tripping.
