this bug in Apple's 'Look Up' feature is amazing. please don't ever fix it

I feel like a colossal idiot every time I shake my iPhone to undo typing, especially when in public. Apple needs to change that interaction

@dada_drummer this is a total assumption on my part but if royalty rates go up for most artists (except the superstars) then that might incentivize more smaller artists to commit stream fraud simply because it's more lucrative

Maybe the weirdest stat from Spotify’s recent info bomb - called out by Tim Ingham of @musicbizworld - 2/3rds of the artists on the platform are credited with less than an album’s worth of material

@dada_drummer yeah. suppressing stream fraud is something streaming services have to deal with today but it could get worse under the user-centric model

@chriskdavis For one, a bot click is different from a person listening. And even the platforms are supposed to distinguish between interactive/active and non-interactive/passive listening

@chriskdavis Yes, I’m not making a point about quantity of releases it’s about quality of listens

@dada_drummer the user-centric model won't benefit those with the most songs/albums. superstar acts that get the most plays today will be paid less. most/all other artists will benefit because each listener's monthly subscription fee will be divided amongst the artists they streamed that month
