Proud to celebrate the 70th anniversary of John Ford's masterpiece THE SEARCHERS with @MahoningDIT on June 21! I cannot wait to see this film in 35mm. I'll be introducing the film on what is sure to be a stunning summer night. For tickets and more info: events.ticketleap.com/tickets/mahoni…

Bogart also starred in the 1951 film THE AFRICAN QUEEN, and while it has nothing to do with the Florida Keys one of the two boats used in the film is docked in Key Largo and available for cruises. Both films were directed by John Huston.

For reference, Humphrey Bogart starred in the 1948 film KEY LARGO. It was almost entirely filmed at the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, California. Bogart was never at the Caribbean Club in Key Largo, but why ruin a good story?

This is an incredible piece of album artwork. Bela Lugosi (armed with a revolver and knife) battling Alfred Hitchcock (armed with a noose and a syringe of blood) in a radio studio. The LP includes vintage radio programs featuring both silver screen legends.

Have @SIRIUSXM? On April 28, I will be hosting the Taking Care of Business (TCB) Takeover on @siriusxmelvis (Ch. 76)! I will be playing my favorite Elvis songs and speaking about what the music of the King of Rock & Roll means to me and the influence it has had on my music books.

In a 1989 interview with USA Today, Vera Miles said of her work with John Ford, "If I were to go back and look at the films, I think the most joyous and creative times were the John Ford films… They were high points for me.”
