The problem is he only got a totally derisory £500 fine. Under Clean Up Britain proposals he would get a £5,000 and six penalty points on his licence.

Too good to be true £20 waste deal costs barber shop owner £2,200  A large pile of rubbish dumped in rural Oxfordshire has resulted in a Swindon barber being ordered to pay over £2,200 Evidence recovered at the site linked the waste to Andre Niehues, 40, of Thomas Street, Swindon. At Reading Magistrates’ Court on Friday, April 24, Niehues pleaded guilty to four offences relating to failing to comply with his duty of care for commercial waste. He was fined £500, ordered to pay a £200 victim surcharge and £1,535.10 in costs, bringing the total to £2,235.10.

Good News that the long overdue Deposit Return Scheme is being launched in Oct 2027. Bad news that it’s only be set at 20p. Germany and Finland is set at 34p and they have 98% return rate. Britain’s will be more like 80% at best. Blame Coke lobbyists. share.google/VytJ2YF2F158rL…

This will keep happening until there are serious consequences for fly-tipping. We are lobbying for a minimum £20,000 fine AND a 12 month driving ban for fly-tippers.
