The WBO have sent a thank you letter to Ellie Scotney which appears to confirm that she’s vacated her titles and is ready to challenge in the featherweight division.
Scotney became undisputed when she beat Mayelli Flores in London also becoming the youngest ever male or female to claim said title in the four belt era.

If Wardley’s power was still explosive, why didn’t he hurt Dubois after the second knockdown in the 3rd ? You said his legs were steady ? but he staggered out of the corner on unsteady legs in the penultimate round, what are you talking Steve, were we watching the same fight ?

@ClonesCyclone Wardley has late power his throwing was still explosive He was a lil wobley but when the bell rang he was steady and sharp and he could still win the fight,Good descision from his corner.Foster did a great job too.Must rest and come back harder and smarter. Many lessons learned

Yes of course he struggled with his breathing because his nose looked like it was busted up and broken from 3/4 rounds into the fight. It’s hard to breath when blood is running down the back of your nose into your throat and your gasping for breath at the same time.

@ClonesCyclone Do you think he seemed to struggle with his breathing from early on, Barry? I know he has the equalizer, so likely why the left him in. If nothing else, the shaky walk to the doctor should've been enough. Foster was looking for an opportunity for a while. What about the corner?!?

That was a dreadful beating Wardley took, those punches that Dubois landed were heavy and sickening and they looked to have done irreparable damage to Wardley. You can see the cuts and the bruising, what you can’t see is the internal damage or the physiological damage.

@ClonesCyclone The referee has been getting stick, I put no blame on him. He was looking for the perfect moment to stop it and found it. Wardley’s corner should take full responsibility on the fight going 2 rounds more than it should have.

@ClonesCyclone Davison appeared to be relying on Wardleys renowned KO punch but by that time he’d took FAR too much and was hard to watch , it’s ok wanting to win badly but not at the expense of someone’s health , and that’s what this was .

Could that be the reason the referee this time allowed the fight to continue ?
The bottom line is the corner are culpable for allowing Wardley to take such a shocking beating, they work with him everyday and know him better than anyone. They were dreadful.

The difference is that Wardley was never hurt like that before, Dubois is ferociously heavy handed, you could see from Fabio’s reaction that he’d never been hit like that. I know it was for the World HW Title but as a cornerman you’ve got to know when enough is enough.

You are completely wrong, no way was Wardley hurt like that in the Clarke fight . As corner men your ultimate responsibility is to protect your fighter at all times and last night Wardley took at least 3 rounds of unnecessary punches.

Absolutely, the corner should have pulled him out at least 3 rounds before the stoppage. Dont believe Wardley will ever be the same fighter again, that was an unbelievably exhausting and draining fight and he absorbed a terrifying amount of punishment because he was so brave.
