Q: I’m starting to get FCS interest and high academic D3 offers. Do I project as an FCS player, and should I wait it out or take a D3 opportunity? A: You likely have FCS traits if you’re already getting that level of interest, but projection and timing matter. FCS recruiting can move slower and is more fluid with roster needs, so waiting comes with risk. High academic D3 offers are real, committable opportunities that won’t always be there later. The smart approach is to keep pushing FCS by getting to camps, continuing exposure, and building relationships, while staying in strong communication with those D3 schools. Don’t pass on a guaranteed fit chasing a maybe, but don’t stop pursuing the higher level either. It’s about managing both lanes strategically, not choosing too early.

@CoachReamon I love everything your saying, we entered this recruiting game in May 2025,my heart goes out to all the classes after us. Parents should really appreciate people like you who understand the changes and get it out there.

The portal changed everything, even at the D2 level. It’s not just about talent anymore, it’s business. Schools will slow-play high school QBs waiting on a portal guy… so if you’re a HS recruit, you need a real strategy: Right camps. Right exposure. Right timing. There’s still value… just less margin for error. 🎥 @ReamonReport

A lot of recruits don’t realize this… The majority of D1 schools are from the Midwest to the East Coast. Geography matters. Schools recruit regionally: more access, more exposure, more opportunities. It’s not just talent. It’s location + strategy.

Q: How can I help myself get recruited more? I’m a 6’0, 180 lb rising senior DB with a 3.4 GPA. A: You’re in the most important window now, so everything needs to be intentional. Make sure your highlight is sharp and updated with your best reps at the top, showing coverage ability, transitions, ball skills, and tackling. Get to camps this spring and early summer where you can actually be evaluated by schools that fit you. Be consistent reaching out to coaches with your film, GPA, measurables, and camp schedule, and make sure you have verified speed numbers because that matters at your position. Most importantly, start fast your senior season because early senior film can make a big difference in your recruitment.

My dad helped just as many kids from opposing schools get to college as he did his own. One of a kind! 🙏🏾

I think you should consider a recruiting service when you need direction, exposure, or an honest evaluation especially if you’re not hearing from coaches, don’t know what camps or schools fit, or lack connections. If things are already moving naturally, you may not need one. Most services struggle with credibility, rely on mass emails, and don’t always provide real evaluation or guidance, which can lead to confusion in the process. And what that being said this isn’t about knocking anyone. When it’s someone who truly understands the business, has real experience, and strong relationships, it can be valuable for almost every recruit.

At what point do you decide on a Recruiting Service for assistance? And what's wrong with them?

Excited to see all the talent this weekend in New Orleans, I haven’t been back to N.O since I was a scout there in 2018.
