On the way back, two blacked-out Volvos kept playing chicken with me, and I got a bit worried... so put my foot down to 90 for a bit, get away from their nonsense. And yes, they were both Scottish Police. When I accused them of spooking and goading me, they told me that was a very "serious accusation" and did I really want to go down that road? I got the message. I paid the fine and took the 3 points. I had to hand in my licence at a Birkenhead police station to send it off to Scotland. I recounted my tale to the desk sargeant - he was not surprised, and used some harsh language to describe how they might not like Scouse numberplates up there. I'll not repeat exactly what he said, y'know... it was the 90s an' all that, but best not stir things up! 😂
