Reminder that just FOUR MONTHS AGO the entire legislative GOP - backed back Frank LaRose - voted to get rid of most August elections bc of abysmal voter turnout and cost to BOEs. But now that it means using one to silence the voice of the people? Just fine! Such bullshit.

A House committee just amended HJR 1 to reflect that the question would go on the Aug. 8 ballot. Both the House and Senate resolutions could be voted out of committee this week. They’re slightly different, so it’s unclear which version they’d go with.

When I was Secretary of State, we set up voter registration sites in high schools, food banks, in the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. I even asked McDonald's to print voter registration forms on their tray liners. Bottom line: We should be making it easier—not harder—to vote.
