The final message from @brucesellery on @CBC's Cross Country Checkup this afternoon is one of the most important personal finance principles ever: “Live within your means. If you have $1 outstanding on your credit card month-to-month, you’re not living within your means. So, that’s the call-to-action. That is the prompt to change.” He also reminds people that non-profit credit counselling agencies are a free, non-judgemental resource that can help those dealing with unmanageable debt.

What about those who are looking to travel? Credit Canada CEO @brucesellery says, "Everyone is making personal choices that are grounded in their values. Think about your own circumstances. What’s going in for you and what’s going out for you? Everybody is making different choices, and let’s not add a layer of morality or shame.” #costofliving #travelcosts

“For other solutions, in addition to talking about courage, there is an acceptance of what’s actually happening here. There is a human need for us to explain, like ’why is this happening'? There’s a human need for us to complain. ‘I don’t want this to be happening’. There’s a human need for us to blame, like ‘who can we point our finger at?... And there's a human need to refrain from taking action. There’s a human need to do all these things that can lead to more pain, instead of accepting what it is. This is the cards we’ve all been dealt.” So, @brucesellery asks what is the action we can take? Join the conversation about how to deal with the rising cost of living on @CBC's Cross Country Checkup live!
