On my way to Sawla to begin a two-day #ResettingGhana Tour of the Savanna Region. I am looking forward, after the project inspections and commencement of work on new projects, to my interaction with the chiefs, young Ghanaians and people of the region in Damongo on Saturday.

It is legally instructive to note that the A-G did not oppose the bail application in the Abronye case. This is a marked departure from what we saw in the past. Gradually, we shall get to our destination.

I will never be against foreign direct investment in our country. But we must always fight for Ghanaians to benefit from it, and that responsibility lies with our leaders to negotiate better terms for us. We can’t direct all our anger at companies if our own leaders agreed to a bad deal on our behalf.

You hear the familiar sound during every journey through our airport. But have you ever wondered who are behind the announcements guiding thousands of passengers daily? The voices may be known… The faces remain a mystery. #AirportLife #BehindTheVoice #AviationLife #Airports

Yesterday I was in Rabat, Morocco to honour an invitation from the Foreign Ministers of Morocco and France to participate in a ministerial session on peacekeeping reforms. I am grateful to my colleagues for making me chair of the ministerial panel on peacekeeping training strategies. The meeting of Foreign Ministers, UN officials and peacekeeping experts issued a communique which emphasized the urgent need to protect peace operations in the interest of vulnerable groups even as financial assistance for peace operations continues to dwindle. I renewed Ghana’s demand for credible investigations and sanctions following the March attack of our peacekeepers in Lebanon. I took the opportunity to once again celebrate Major-General Anita Asmah, Africa’s first female UN peacekeeping Head of Mission and Force Commander, and urged the international community to increase the participation of women in peacekeeping noting that the current 10% female participation cannot be our best. As a member of the Governing Council of the Kofi Annan Peacekeeping Training Institute, I highlighted the great contributions of the institute in promoting excellent, multi-cultural, gender inclusive and professional peacekeeping. I reaffirmed Ghana’s support for UN Security Council Resolution 2719 and assured that Ghana shall maintain its enviable reputation of being a top ten troop contributing nation, building on a great tradition since our first deployment in 1960. We remain absolutely proud of our blue berets and salute them for their extraordinary bravery in protecting the vulnerable across numerous theatres of conflict.

This morning, our team of hard-working Prosecutors closed the prosecution’s case in The Republic v Solomon Asamoah & Another (a.k.a. the “Sky Train” case). The case involves the former CEO and the former Board Chairman of the Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund (GIIF). They are standing trial for paying out US$ 2 million to a foreign company without board and other requisite approvals. The money cannot be found. The Accused Persons asked the Court for an opportunity to make a submission of no case. The Court gave them up to June 8 to file their submission. If the submission makes sense to the Judge, the Accused Persons will be acquitted and discharged. If it doesn’t make sense, the Judge will ask the Accused Persons to explain why they should not be sent to jail.

The Thank You Tour train passed through Bimbilla, Chereponi, Gushegu, Karaga, and Kpandai and offered me another valuable opportunity to reconnect with the people and our dedicated party structures on the ground. The commitment, energy, and sense of unity displayed across these communities continue to demonstrate the important role grassroots engagement plays in strengthening our democracy and shaping national progress. My sincere appreciation to the chiefs, elders, comrades, and community members for the warm reception and meaningful interactions throughout the visit. #ThankYouTour

What do the mining communities themselves look like after decades of extraction? For me that should be the first question asked before a lease is given or even renewed. Not just small CSR projects or a few schools. The people carrying the environmental and social burden of mining should be the FIRST to visibly benefit from the wealth beneath their land. If billions leave the ground and the communities remain underdeveloped, then we have every right to ask, who truly benefited? This really bothers me I won’t lie.

Ghanaians consume more sachet water than bottled water, so shouldnt the FDA pay even closer attention to the sachet water market and ensure it is truly safe for consumption?

When Ghana’s Ministry of Tourism unveiled Wiyaala as the nation’s new Tourism Ambassador and crowned her Fugu Queen in May 2026, the announcement was more than ceremonial. It was a recognition of a remarkable journey: an artist who chose to return to her roots rather than chase the bright lights of Accra or abroad, and who has since transformed her village of Funsi into a thriving cultural hub. The CEO of the Ghana Tourism Development Company (GTDC) shares insights into the rationale behind the establishment of tourism offices on university campuses across the country. This initiative seeks to position academic spaces as important tourism assets, while creating opportunities for students, visitors, and stakeholders to engage with Ghana’s rich history, culture, heritage, and educational landmarks.
